<p>Job Title: Senior Regulatory Specialist</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Senior Regulatory Specialist is a Senior management position responsible for overseeing a variety of projects, tasks, and staff management. This role supports programmatic environmental services for utility, commercial, and waterfront infrastructure development projects. Key duties include coordinating with clients, overseeing junior staff, and ensuring the strategic planning and delivery of projects, as well as preparing permit applications and environmental documentation in accordance with Section 404/401 of the Clean Water Act and other relevant regulations. The role also involves assisting with or leading field data collection, GIS applications for impact maps, report writing, and various office- and field-related functions.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate with clients and oversee junior staff for project scoping and delivery. </li><li>Prepare permit applications and environmental documentation as per Section 404/401 of the Clean Water Act and other regulations. </li><li>Assist with or lead field data collection and surveys. </li><li>Utilize GIS applications for preparing impact maps and project-related graphics. </li><li>Write reports and perform other office- and field-related tasks. </li><li>Communicate directly with clients in both written and verbal formats. </li><li>Oversee and train staff, develop and implement programmatic procedures. </li><li>Ensure quality and consistency of project deliverables in line with company and client standards. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>5-10 years of experience in environmental science, emphasizing Section 404/401 permitting, Federal facilities, utility routing and siting, regulatory processes, and GIS applications. </li><li>Strong communication skills for client coordination. </li><li>Proficient knowledge of Section 404/401 regulations, Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and other relevant policies. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects. </li><li>Ability to manage and train junior staff. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or advanced degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, geology, biology, or a related field. </li><li>Experience in DOT permitting, railroad permitting, and local approvals is desirable. </li><li>Basic proficiency in GIS, erosion control planning, report writing, and environmental compliance. </li><li>Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote job site locations. </li><li>Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Join a small firm with an entrepreneurial feel, providing opportunities to wear different hats, gain exposure to more aspects of the business, and pursue growth and ownership.
