<p>Job Description</p> <p>The Veterinary Patient Care Coordinator acts as a crucial link between clients, veterinarians, and other hospital staff, ensuring smooth patient flow and efficient communication. This role involves a mix of administrative and clinical tasks, requiring strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Patient Flow Management:</p> <p>Guiding clients and patients through the clinic, ensuring efficient movement between waiting rooms, exam rooms, and treatment areas.</p> <ul> <li>Client/Doctor Communication: </li></ul> <p>Facilitating clear and timely communication between clients and veterinarians, addressing concerns and providing updates.</p> <ul> <li>Administrative Tasks: </li></ul> <p>Processing payments, managing financial information, maintaining patient records, and assisting with discharge appointments.</p> <ul> <li>Nursing Care Support: </li></ul> <p>May involve assisting with basic patient care tasks, such as monitoring vital signs, administering medications under supervision, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.</p> <ul> <li>Teamwork and Collaboration: </li></ul> <p>Working closely with veterinary technicians, doctors, and other staff to ensure optimal patient care and a positive client experience.</p> <p>Essential Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent Communication Skills: Both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, doctors, and staff. </li><li>Strong Organizational Skills: To manage appointments, records, and patient flow efficiently. </li><li>Problem-Solving Skills: To address client concerns and resolve issues related to patient care. </li><li>Empathy and Compassion: To create a welcoming and supportive environment for clients and their pets. </li><li>Knowledge of Veterinary Terminology: Familiarity with common medications, procedures, and medical conditions. </li><li>Computer Proficiency: Experience with veterinary practice management software preferred but not required. </li></ul> <p>As the Patient Care Coordinator, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor the waiting/exam room clients; assist with refreshments/marketing materials; update clients on wait time/patient status </li><li>Maintain open communication with the doctor and technical staff to minimize wait times and maximize patient flow regarding long wait times </li><li>Coordinate patient flow between multiple specialties </li><li>Facilitate discharge appointments for all services </li><li>Perform patient discharges in coordination with the technical team </li><li>Manage patient discharge/visit board and exam rooms; ensure comfortable and timely visits & discharges </li><li>Minimum of 12 months' experience in a medical/veterinary office setting required. </li></ul> <p>Full insurance and benefits package available for all full-time staff.</p> <p>National Veterinary Associates is a leading global pet care organization united in the love of animals and the people who love them.</p> <p>At NVA, we're on a mission to improve the lives of pets and the people who love them.
