<p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Full time</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>Day Shift</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>Come join our Patient Access team at Saint Mary's Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Of New England!</p> <p>Position Purpose</p> <p>The oncology scheduler coordinates and schedules all oncology appointments for established patients such as, laboratory, chemotherapy infusion, blood products, Physician/APP, injections, nutrition, chemotherapy education, genetics, symptom management and survivorship appointments; as well as coordinating radiology studies, internal/external referral appointments as requested by providers, nurses, and other patient care team members. Scheduler must be able to greet and interact with patients, staff and public with a courteous attitude</p> <p>What you will do</p> <ul> <li> <p>Greet patients, answer phones, schedule patients</p> </li><li> <p>Assist clinicians with pre-certifications/referrals, faxes and chart preparation</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure the provider's schedules are timely and accurate</p> </li><li> <p>Obtain accurate, timely registration and insurance information</p> </li><li> <p>Provide clerical support to physicians, clinicians, mid-level providers and staff</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School diploma or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>College coursework in the secretarial or medical sciences preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of one year experience working in a physician's office required, preferably in a similar capacity</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with medical terminology required</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate well and listen effectively.
