Responsibilities include developing and implementing purchasing strategies, negotiating contracts to improve financial results, managing contracts and insurance, and proactively researching cost-saving and value-added opportunities for Nucor. The Purchasing Manager will contribute to Nucor enterprise-wide purchasing efforts and ensure appropriate internal controls and quality system procedures are maintained, documented, and continuously improved. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Minimum Qualifications: Previous experience in a leadership role. Minimum 3 years experience in a purchasing related function in a manufacturing environment. Position will require 25% travel. Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
