You will work across production, lab, and office environments, contribute to engineering and chemistry-related tasks, and complete a defined project during the session, presenting your findings and key learnings to a broad audience at the end.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Participate in production facility tours with a focus on basic fiberglass manufacturing processes. </li><li>Learn about Knauf Insulation product groups and applications. </li><li>Practice and promote safe work methods in multiple settings. </li><li>Complete assigned project(s) during the session and deliver a summary presentation at session end. </li><li>Support Innovation Team members with engineering or chemistry-related tasks. </li><li>Collaborate and interact with Knauf Insulation personnel across various roles and functions. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or another technical field. </li><li>Completion of at least the first full year of college/university. </li><li>Willingness to learn and take initiative. </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team. </li><li>Strong problem identification and solution development skills. </li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Demonstrated creativity and originality in completing work. </li><li>Ability to travel for up to one week at a time. </li><li>Self-motivation, troubleshooting, time management, and critical thinking skills. </li><li>Proficiency in mathematics and/or chemistry. </li><li>Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>3D printing experience and familiarity with design software (bonus). </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Comfortable working safely in production and lab environments with equipment such as power saws, cutting tools, high-temperature ovens, insulation machines, and thermal test equipment. </li><li>Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. </li><li>Regular climbing/descending of stairs and ladders. </li><li>Exposure to fast-paced office, plant, and laboratory environments with moderate to loud noise levels. </li><li>Possible exposure to extreme temperature changes and dusty conditions. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Gain</p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience with fiberglass manufacturing processes and thermal testing. </li><li>Exposure to real-world engineering and chemistry applications in insulation products. </li><li>Mentorship from Innovation Team members and cross-functional collaboration. </li><li>Project ownership with an end-of-session presentation to a broad audience. </li></ul> <p>Travel</p> <ul> <li>Ability to travel for up to one week at a time as part of tours, project work, or collaboration across sites. </li></ul> <p>It is the policy of Knauf Insulation to provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified persons without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, protected veteran status or any other protected characteristic prohibited by applicable law.</p>
