Bill Young VA Medical Center VA Healthcare System's Primary Care Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Physician (Primary Care). Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program.</p> <p>This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. Eligible applicants will be referred until all vacancies are filled.</p> <p>C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center is currently seeking outstanding full-time trained physician to join our team as a Primary Care Provider at the Bradenton VA Clinic . This incumbent will be responsible to provide comprehensive gender specific care to a panel of patients managed under PCMM guidelines. The incumbent is expected to be attentive to patient education, preventive care and be able to work well in an interdisciplinary team to provide high quality primary care.</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to;</p> <ul> <li>Manages chronic conditions, evaluates and treats inter-current medical conditions. Determine medical assessment and develop treatment plans according to accepted protocols. </li><li>Collaborates with a Patient Aligned Care Team to provide accessible, comprehensive, coordinated, continuous care to an assigned panel of patients </li><li>Must provide comprehensive gender specific care for female veterans as a Women's Health PCP including age appropriate cervical and breast cancer screening, menopause and contraceptive management, and initial evaluation of basic gynecological concerns. </li><li>Performs a variety of disease prevention related activities including gender and age specific screenings, mental health screenings, and health promotion activities. </li><li>Screens for, evaluates and treats uncomplicated common mental health disorders, including depression and common addictions, with referrals made to mental health providers for further evaluation and treatment as appropriate. </li><li>Provide Buprenorphine treatment in the management of Opioid Use Disorder per DEA guidance. </li><li>Primary care physicians will have responsibility for supervision of or collaboration with primary care mid-level providers. </li><li>Primary care physicians will act as surrogates for absent primary care providers when needed, to include review of CPRS view alerts. </li><li>Primary care physicians will regular attend primary care staff meetings, departmental meetings and medical staff meetings. </li><li>Timely documentation (notes and encounter forms) is necessary in all areas in accordance with facility policy. All administrative work should be completed in a timely fashion. </li><li>Clinical reminders should be addressed as medically appropriate. Quality of care should meet professional standards. Utilization of all Virtual Care modalities is an expectation of this position. </li><li>Prescribe medication according to approved formulary, and in accordance with Federal and State Law. </li></ul> <p>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards.</p> <p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the VISN 8 Compensation Center of Excellence at VISN8CCOE@va.gov.</p> <p>Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases</p> <p>Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)</p> <p>Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA</p> <p>Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)</p> <p>Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory</p> <p>CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)</p> <p>Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided</p> <p>Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting</p> <p>Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm</p> <p>Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Authorized.</p> <p>Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Eligible</p> <p>Financial Disclosure Report: Not Required</p>
