<p>We are seeking an experienced Travel Directional Drill Operator to support underground fiber and utility construction projects across multiple markets. This role requires extensive travel and overnight stays. The ideal candidate is safety-driven, production-focused, and experienced operating drill equipment in various soil conditions.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Operate directional drill rigs (Vermeer, Ditch Witch, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Perform bore planning and execute underground installations</p> </li><li> <p>Read and interpret utility locates, construction prints, and bore plans</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure proper depth, alignment, and safe drilling practices</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct pre-trip inspections and routine equipment maintenance</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely with locator and ground crew to prevent utility hits</p> </li><li> <p>Complete daily production and safety reports</p> </li><li> <p>Travel to assigned project sites as required</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Proven experience operating directional drill rigs</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with underground telecom/fiber installation preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to drill in various soil conditions (rock drilling experience a plus)</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of HDD safety standards and utility locating procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to pass background check and drug screening</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness to travel extensively (overnight stays required)</p> </li><li> <p>Strong work ethic and ability to work long hours as needed</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Outdoor construction sites in varying weather conditions</p> </li><li> <p>Physically demanding role</p> </li><li> <p>Long hours and overtime as required</p> </li><li> <p>Travel-based assignments (per diem may be offered depending on project)</p> </li></ul>
