<p>What We're Looking For:</p> <p>Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Structural Project Engineer (PE and/or SE) to join our growing Structural Engineering team.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in structural design, analysis, and project delivery, and will serve as the structural lead and Engineer of Record for a variety of project sectors including Industrial, Healthcare, Mission Critical/Data Centers, Commercial, Federal, and Water/Wastewater. This role is ideal for a licensed engineer who thrives in a technical leadership position, enjoys mentoring junior staff, and collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Serves as Structural Lead and Engineer of Record for projects across multiple market sectors </li><li>Performs and oversees structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation structures </li><li>Directs and mentors Junior Engineers and Structural Designers, providing technical guidance and quality control </li><li>Prepares and reviews calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports for accuracy and constructability </li><li>Coordinates with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery </li><li>Provides technical guidance on project scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments </li><li>Conducts site visits and construction observations to support design intent and resolve field issues </li><li>Completes assignments within budget and schedule while working with design teams involving multiple disciplines </li><li>Provides career development mentoring to early-career engineers </li><li>Assists in client contact and communication, and attends client meetings </li><li>Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications </li><li>Assists with the preparation of proposals </li><li>Stays current with applicable codes, standards, and best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives </li><li>Performs other duties as required </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures from an ABET accredited university </li><li>Master's degree strongly preferred </li><li>Strong knowledge of building codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI) </li><li>Proven track record of managing large-scale projects from concept to completion </li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills </li><li>Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration </li><li>Structural Engineer (SE) strongly preferred </li><li>Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, 10+ years preferred </li><li>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Experience with Autodesk Revit is a plus </li><li>Experience with Mission Critical/Data Center projects is a plus </li><li>Experience with Water/Wastewater structures is a plus </li><li>Experience with Healthcare projects is a plus </li></ul> <p>Why join us?</p> <p>Barge Design Solutions, Inc., is an engineering and architecture firm with diverse in-house multidisciplinary practice areas.
