This role requires a self-starter, working in the South Yard Assembly Building to support the Material Handlers in the receipt, movement, storage and logistics of shipboard as well as non-shipboard material. Lifting and handling of various weights for receiving and issuing of material is required.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Candidatemust have basic understanding of how to use a computer and corresponding tools such as hand held devices, tablets, etc. to supportcurrent and futurewarehouse material systems so they can do electronic receipts, material picks, material tracking and issuance of material. </li><li>Familiar with receiving and issuing hazardous material and MSDS requirements is a plus </li><li>A good understanding ofcomputersis required to access and update EB's ITS (Inventory Tracking System), MRP II (Materials Resource Planning), Electronic Work Package (EWP), Pitch Catch, Real Time Outfitting Management Information Systems (ROMIS) and others for accessing company and warehousing procedures and training </li><li>Position requires driving a forklift and on occasion, potentially work at heights up to 40 feet while utilizing a forklift </li><li>Candidate must be able to obtain a forklift license within Electric Boat within the first month </li><li>Candidate is required to have basic math skills to be able to support the receipt and issuance of linear unit of measure material and potentially cut material to the correct dimensions prior to issuing the material </li><li>This position may required going on board a Submarine for loading On-Board Repair Parts (OBRPs) </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Must possess good math skills (able to convert square foot to square inch, square inch to square foot) </li><li>General knowledge and experience in using inventory applications on a computer or tablet </li><li>Follow directions based on procedure </li><li>Operate forklift machinery </li><li>Recognize warning labels </li><li>Accurately transfer material markings </li><li>Good computer skills </li><li>Navigate inventory applications </li><li>Use electronic devices </li><li>Must be able to multitask </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED or 2+ years technical experience </li><li>0-5 years previous warehousing experience or a similar type of position with experience receiving, locating, segregating and issuing material </li><li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense </li><li>Must be able to work all shifts (this is a 1st shift role) </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Past experience operating a forklift </li></ul>
