<p>Akkodis is seeking a Data Architect for a Contract with a client in Jersey City, NJ. You will lead end-to-end data model design and ensure candidates can independently reverse-engineer complex legacy IMS/DB2 structures.</p> <p>Rate Range: $49/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.</p> <p>Data Architect job responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead the design and maintenance of technology-agnostic logical data models and translate them into modern physical schemas for SQL and MongoDB.</p> </li><li> <p>Reverse-engineer legacy IMS/DB2 structures and interpret COBOL copybooks to extract accurate business entities and field definitions.</p> </li><li> <p>Define end-to-end downstream integration strategies including REST APIs, event streaming (Kafka/MQ), and CDC pipelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Direct and validate AI-assisted pipelines for reverse engineering, ERD creation, data dictionary generation, and schema documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Produce core architecture artifacts including data dictionaries, ERDs, mapping specifications, and integration contracts.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with SMEs to ensure data models and integration flows align with business rules and undocumented domain logic.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.</p> </li><li> <p>10+ years of experience in data architecture, integration design, and modernization projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven ability to reverse-engineer legacy IMS/DB2 and COBOL structures into modern data models.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong experience designing integration patterns including REST APIs, event streaming, and CDC.</p> </li></ul> <p>If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
