<p>Provides 24-hour operational oversight and management support for all organizational Security programs ensuring policy and procedural compliance and efficient operations. Provides supervision of the Security department in the absence of the Director. Provides supervision and motivates staff members in a positive manner developing teamwork in security services as required by Director. Oversees the Video, Panic, Infant Abduction and other Security Systems to ensure proper coverage, operations and staff competency. Assists Director in implementing department's objectives, overseeing staffing, and implementing new procedures and/or programs as necessary.</p> <ul> <li>Provides operational support to the Security Management Program for all Stamford Health Locations and functions as the department representative on related committees. </li><li>Developing and implementing robust security strategies and policies to protect the organization, patients, employees, assets and facilities. </li><li>Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of security requirements into business processes and projects. </li><li>Assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of organizational and departmental policies, programs and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable safety and health requirements. </li><li>Assists in the coordination of related programs such as the Environment of Care Inspection Program, Hazardous Materials Management, Organizational Wide Security Training and Disaster Drills recommending and ensuring completion of actions as needed. </li><li>Assists with the implementation of Security objectives and oversees Security staff to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and objectives. </li><li>Conducts new employee orientation related to Security and provides training, coaching and in-service for security officers as needed. </li><li>Responsible for managing security staff including all performance management and training requirements. </li><li>Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage, and provides direction or information to others. </li><li>Prepares logs or reports as required for site; writes or types reports or enters information in a computer using standard grammar; inspects security control logs and takes action as required. </li><li>Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to management, life/safety personnel or public safety authorities as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required by policy. </li><li>Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established. </li><li>Acts to ensure that all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements and in accord with standards; identifies products or materials among items carried by client employees or visitors. </li><li>Receives, reads, and routes incoming mail. Reviews documents making notes of deadlines. May prepare responses to routine correspondence as directed. </li><li>Understands and drives business metrics and performance measurements to ensure effectiveness, high performance, and compliance </li><li>Understands the contractual agreement and recognizes ways to maximize opportunities </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to positively move the metrics for forecasting, productivity, claims, customer service, and turnover </li><li>Supports off shifts via call and/or regular visits. Responds to organizational needs off hours to ensure security operations maintain appropriate measures based upon situation. </li><li>Manages scheduling, overtime for associates under his/her direct supervision, and timekeeping </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in related field with minimum 5 years experience in related security and safety fields preferably in a healthcare or law enforcement environment. </li><li>Strong public relations, communications and organizational skills, computer proficiency. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Must demonstrate understanding of Hospital Safety principles. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of Emergency Management principles. </li><li>Advanced knowledge and skills in interpretation of State, Federal, and Local Codes as it pertains to safety. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of security technologies, incident management software and other security-related equipment, such as access control systems and CCTV surveillance. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to develop and implement security policies, procedures and programs. </li><li>Proficiency in security assessments, audits and investigations at a large scale. </li><li>Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse security team. </li><li>Attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying and mitigating security risks. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization. </li><li>Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity. </li><li>Physical fitness and the ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies. </li><li>Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in-writing. </li><li>Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines. </li><li>Ability to work as a member of a team. </li><li>Skill and ability in Microsoft Office applications. </li></ul> <p>About Stamford Health</p> <p>Stamford Health is a non-profit independent healthcare system with more than 3,500 employees committed to compassionately caring for the community and offering a wide-range of high-quality health and wellness services.
