<p>Location: Franklin Middle School General Description: The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced special education teacher to work at the Franklin Middle School in the GOALS program. The GOALS Program (Generalization of Academic, Language and Social Skills) provides a constellation of services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The program is designed to help children reach their full potential by providing direct instruction and embedded support in the areas of social skills, academic skills, behavior, language, self-regulation and communication across all environments. The students receive highly specialized instruction within inclusion classrooms as appropriate. The program is supported by a BCBA, SLP, OT, and PT as needed. Key Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan for the effective instruction and intervention for students on IEPs </li><li>Administer formal diagnostic assessments and tests for students initially referred and for three-year reevaluations of caseload students </li><li>Facilitate and support inclusion opportunities for students </li><li>Administer ongoing progress monitoring, strategic monitoring and benchmark systems </li><li>Schedule, prepare for, and attend Team meetings for caseload students; </li><li>Write comprehensive progress reports </li><li>Collaborate with general education staff with respect to appropriate accommodations and modifications </li><li>Provide ongoing positive communication with parents </li><li>Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred </li><li>Must have a Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Special Needs through the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education </li><li>Must have demonstrated success with and be knowledgeable about current research-based interventions for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders </li><li>Must possess demonstrated ability to develop positive behavior intervention plans </li><li>Experience and training with ABA required </li><li>Experience with the administration and interpretation of a wide range of formal and informal diagnostic assessment and evaluation tools </li><li>Excellent writing and communication skills required </li><li>Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI). </li></ul> <p>Compensation: Per contract Bargaining Unit Agreements: We understand that our collective success depends on the robust exchange of ideas-an exchange that is best when the rich diversity of our perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences flourishes.
