<p>Is a Public Works career right for you?</p> <p>Ask yourself the following questions:</p> <p>Do you want more than a job while working to improve your community's quality of life?</p> <p>Do you want to make a difference to your community?</p> <p>Then a career in Public Works is for you!</p> <p>Make an impact in the community by joining the Facilities Team! The Facilities Division consists of 24 staff members that work hard to ensure all residents and employees of Broomfield have access to clean, safe, and energy efficient buildings and aquatic facilities.</p> <p>The Facilities team is looking for a Journeyman HVAC to work under the Master Mechanical HVAC, performing skilled work in the general maintenance, repair and installation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.  This position will also perform facilities maintenance duties related to general mechanical, plumbing and electrical work.</p> <p>Total Compensation Package</p> <p>Salary Range: $34.82 - $47.12/hour</p> <p>Free Recreation Center Pass (Gym & Pool)</p> <p>14 days paid vacation + 10 sick days per year + 12 paid holidays</p> <p>Medical, dental, & vision insurance (Wellness discount on insurance premiums available)</p> <p>No travel required - all jobs within City of Broomfield</p> <p>6% employer retirement match</p> <ul> <li> <p>Analyzes, troubleshoots, installs, repairs, rebuilds, adjusts and replaces heating, cooling and other mechanical equipment and components in City-owned facilities including bearings, motors, heat exchangers, air conditioning compressors, water and pneumatic valves, humidity control units, coolers, freezers, exhaust hoods, and pneumatic, electrical and electro-pneumatic and digital control systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs general mechanical, plumbing and electrical work in the alteration and maintenance of City buildings and facilities </p> </li><li> <p>Performs inspection of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, emergency generators, pool systems, fire alarm systems and fire sprinkler systems to ensure proper operation.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with managing contractual resources engaged with the City and County to maintain facilities and equipment; obtains bids and quotes; schedules work with contractors; escorts vendors through secure areas; follows up on work for compliance.  </p> </li><li> <p>Assists with other building maintenance tasks as needed including but not limited to painting, carpentry, moving furniture and equipment, plumbing, snow removal, electrical and fabrication work. Inspects and maintains assigned equipment and tools for proper operating condition.  </p> </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High school graduation or GED Equivalent - required </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>4 years of progressively responsible experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC systems and related mechanical, electrical and plumbing necessary to support these systems.  </li></ul> <p>Certifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>NATE Certification (Air Conditioning Service and Installation & Gas Heating Service and Installation) - required at time of hire</p> </li><li> <p>EPA Universal Certification - required at time of hire   </p> </li><li> <p>ICC Mechanical Journeyman Certificate - required within 3 months of hire</p> </li></ul> <p>Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience.
