POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>PURPOSE</p> <p>Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive patient care services.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ol> <li> <p>Manage the ongoing process of healthcare delivery, procedures, and equipment in the care of the patient on ECMO and/or care of the ECMO circuit.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in the educational process related to the delivery of healthcare.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage the environment for the delivery of care.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in the discharge planning process.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide educational activities and orientation designed to improve clinical competence.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote department, professional practice, and organizational goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Pursue educational and leadership opportunities to enhance professional growth and clinical expertise.</p> </li></ol> <p>SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ol> <li> <p>Demonstrates competence as described in the employee competencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ol> <li> <p>Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license or Registered Respiratory Therapist in the State of Colorado.</p> </li><li> <p>Degree from an accredited academic clinical program; Bachelor's degree preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication, assessment and patient care skills, as well as flexibility and ability to function in a high-stress environment required.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience as an ECMO specialist in a neonatal, cardiac, and/or critical care setting preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of three+ years in the Level IV NICU, ICU, or PICU experience preferred, minimum of two years required.</p> </li><li> <p>Must maintain current BLS and other specialty certifications as required by unit.</p> </li><li> <p>Must obtain and maintain PALs.</p> </li><li> <p>Current national certification in area of practice (RNC, CCRN, etc...) preferred.</p> </li></ol> <p>HCA HealthONE, one of the largest and most comprehensive healthcare systems in the Rocky Mountain region, offers more than 170 care sites in the Denver metro area.
