<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the Partnered Solutions Team, in the Division of Enterprise Technology (DET), Bureau of Business Application Services (BAS), this Application and Security System Administrator position is the technical authority responsible for the overall management, integrity, security, and availability of applications across on-premises and cloud environments. This role ensures proper deployment, configuration, performance optimization, and lifecycle management of applications while embedding security best practices to protect sensitive data, ensure compliance, and mitigate risks. This role will work closely with development, security, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure applications are well-maintained, secure, and aligned with organizational objectives. This role also focuses on integrity, availability, and effective ongoing management of applications and platforms. In addition, this role ensures the protection of applications, data, infrastructure, and operations. These applications manage vital information for the divisions and agencies we serve as well as the public and other professional groups.</p> <p>The Application and Security System Administrator collaborates with stakeholders across the technology organization to define secure solutions, incorporate SaaS/PaaS and commercial/custom software platform requirements, drive DevSecOps processes, and promote best practices in application configuration, development, and deployment. This position requires advanced working knowledge of software design, systems administration/engineering, security practices, databases and operating systems. This position defines, researches, and implements processes, tools, techniques, standards and methodologies to streamline application administration and comply with state and federal security standards.</p> <p>Key responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Provide application administration, security guidance, and expertise to internal teams and DOA-supported customers throughout the software selection, implementation, deployment, and application management lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business and security objectives. </li><li>Oversee installation, configuration, versioning, patching, and performance optimization of applications across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring reliability and efficiency. </li><li>Define and implement application platform configurations and security controls within the Solution Architecture to ensure compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements, and business needs. </li><li>Integrate application security best practices within the DevSecOps pipeline, ensuring secure development, testing, deployment, and ongoing operational management. </li><li>Collaborate with the DET Security Team and other technical teams-including software development, infrastructure, and compliance-to implement secure application platforms, automated workflows, access controls, and configuration management. </li><li>Make recommendations for roadmaps for statewide and internal applications, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with business and technology strategies. Work closely with the technical architecture team to minimize technology footprint and simplify the environment. </li><li>Perform regular audits, security assessments, and monitoring of applications to ensure compliance with security policies, data protection standards, and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Manage incident response readiness for applications by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to system vulnerabilities, outages, and security threats. </li><li>Maintain comprehensive documentation for application configurations, security policies, workflows, and operational procedures to support long-term sustainability and compliance. </li></ul> <p>For more information, please view the full position description.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Starting hourly rate for the IS Technical Services Consultant Administrator position will be between $39.04 - $59.36 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. A 12-month probationary period may be required. This classification is assigned to pay schedule/range 07-32. Current State employees will be compensated in accordance with the current State Compensation Plan.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and/or background checks on applicants prior to selection.
