<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Under the direction of the Director of SEL and the Office of Family and Community Partnerships and School Principal. The Behavior Technician plays a key role in fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive school climate. This position supports students' social, emotional, and behavioral success by implementing restorative approaches, behavior intervention strategies, and proactive supports that promote accountability, empathy, and community.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the implementation of the Connecticut School Climate Framework and school-based climate improvement plans. </li><li>Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment. </li><li>Serve as a visible, accessible support presence during transition times, lunch/recess, and unstructured periods. </li><li>Facilitate or co-facilitate restorative conversations, circles, and conferences to address conflicts and repair harm. </li><li>Assist staff in integrating restorative practices into classroom management and daily routines. </li><li>Work directly with students displaying challenging behaviors to de-escalate situations and teach replacement behaviors. </li><li>Collect behavior data and collaborate with school teams to assess effectiveness of supports. </li><li>Collaborate with teachers, administrators, support staff, and families to develop individualized strategies for students. </li><li>Participate in Student Support Team (SST), IEP, or 504 meetings as appropriate. </li><li>Maintain detailed records, behavior logs, and data tracking tools. </li><li>Participate in professional development on restorative practices, de-escalation techniques, trauma-informed care, and school climate regulations. </li><li>Support the capacity building of staff in restorative practices and positive behavioral supports. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree preferred but not mandatory </li><li>Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or behavioral support setting </li><li>Understanding of restorative practices, trauma-informed care, and behavior de-escalation strategies </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and within a team </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands and Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to respond quickly in crisis situations </li><li>May require some lifting or physical redirection </li><li>Work is performed in a school environment and may involve exposure to student behaviors </li></ul> <p>Apply Online....www.windsorct.org</p> <p>Windsor Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Windsor Public Schools are committed to a policy of equal opportunity/affirmative action for all qualified persons.
