<p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>High school diploma or GED; five years of experience in wastewater utilities and one year of electrical and electronic control systems experience; one year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Must be multi-task oriented and able to work under stressful and demanding situations. Good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills, organizational skills required. PC experience in Microsoft office preferred. Knowledge of utility related laws and regulations, extensive knowledge of sewer line maintenance or underground utility repair techniques required. Heavy equipment operator skills and operation preferred. Significant physical demands required in lifting of heavy objects. This position requires in-person and onsite work. This position is not remote work eligible. PLEASE NOTE:Must maintain personal mobile technology as a condition of employment. Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.</p> <p>Duties</p> <p>This position oversees the maintenance and repair of the wastewater collections system, to include sewer mainline cleaning, clearing easements, sewer line repairs, paving operations, snow removal at county owned facilities, and air valve maintenance. Under general supervision, performs work of considerable difficulty in supervising crews and coordinating daily schedules in the operation and maintenance of the County's wastewater collection system. Monitor and record time worked for all employees. Ensure all safety requirements and state and federal laws are followed. Respond to customer request and work with public in a professional manner. Prepare cost reports, create purchase orders, ensure all construction equipment and vehicle maintenance is maintained accordingly. This position requires significant physical demands to include frequent overtime at any time day or night to include holidays and weekends. Coordinate with Assistant Wastewater Operations Manager activities relating to system operations, demands, and ongoing projects. Respond to customer complaints and inquiries.
