<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Director oversees non-clinical interventions and upstream solutions that foster student well-being, retention, and persistence. The Director leads and supervises the Care case management process, ensuring compliance with the NABITA Risk Rubric and best practices, while coordinating timely and effective interventions for students of concern. The Director is an intentional student-centered professional who addresses the needs of undergraduate and graduate students struggling in a variety of capacities through a variety of interventions, referrals, follow-up services, and upstream opportunities within the Division . They facilitate the Behavioral Intervention Team, conduct high-level risk assessments, and manage Care team operations, including supervision of staff, interns, and case managers. The role involves collaboration with internal and external partners to develop holistic care plans and administer the Advocate Care module, while maintaining FERPA compliance. The Director also participates in the Division of Student Success on-call rotation, providing after-hours crisis response and ongoing support for students in distress. Additionally, they analyze Care data trends, ensure NABITA compliance, and develop training, policy recommendations, and assessment strategies to improve student well-being, retention, and equity.</p> <p>Leadership and Case Management 45%</p> <ul> <li>Lead and supervise the Care case management process, ensuring compliance with NABITA Risk Rubric, as well as a timely and effective response to referrals for students of concern. This includes lead facilitation of the Behavioral Intervention Team </li><li>Conduct high-level risk assessments for critical student concerns and make recommendations to the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). </li><li>Coordinate Care team meetings and supervise Care Case Leads and frontline case managers, provide functional supervision and accountability to all case managers </li><li>Supervise and support graduate interns working on Care case management and student outreach. </li><li>Develop and implement ongoing professional development for staff and faculty related to Care trends, case management, student concerns, and contemporary practices for student support. </li><li>Coordinate with faculty, staff, families, and external agencies to assess student needs and develop holistic Care plans. </li><li>Serve as the primary administrator and trainer for the Advocate Care module case management system. </li><li>Maintain compliance with FERPA and related regulations while managing sensitive student records. </li><li>Act as a key liaison to academic departments, Health Services, Counseling & Personal Growth, University Police, Title IX, Athletics, Dean of the College, and other internal and external partner. </li></ul> <p>Compliance, Assessment, Policy Development, and Training 30%</p> <ul> <li>Maintain active membership in NABITA and utilize best practices from behavioral intervention and threat assessment models in overseeing complex student support cases. </li><li>Maintain accurate records and generate regular reports on case management trends and outcomes. </li><li>Analyze trends in Care data to identify systemic challenges and recommend policy improvements to support student retention and equity. </li><li>Develop training, presentations, and resources on student well-being, suicide prevention, and faculty/staff response to distressed students. </li><li>Develop a comprehensive annual assessment plan to measure the effectiveness of care initiatives, including timely and effective completion of cases and student support, and student success. </li></ul> <p>On-Call and Crisis Response 10%</p> <ul> <li>Serve in the Division of Student Success on-call rotation to respond to student emergencies, including after-hours and weekends. </li><li>Collaborate with University Police, Health Services, Counseling & Personal Growth, Title IX, and external providers during crises. </li><li>Provide follow-up support for students who have experienced trauma, hospitalization, or personal emergencies. </li></ul> <p>Participate in the growth and development of the Division and Clark University 15%</p> <ul> <li>Support the on-boarding and off-boarding process for students, including having an active presence at signature events. </li><li>Support critical retention and student success initiatives. </li><li>Serve as a key leader in university health and well-being initiatives, programs, and services </li><li>Support key initiatives and experiences within Student Success and the University, such as opening weekend, orientation, commencement, family weekend, traditional events, etc. </li><li>Promote efficiency and courtesy throughout the University community, ensuring consistency with Student Success' mission and values. </li><li>Remain cognizant of the University's mission and identity, the constant promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the importance of student voices. </li><li>Communicate effectively with supervisor concerning pertinent departmental and University matters. </li><li>Other duties as assigned that are in the best interest of the division. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in counseling, social work, student affairs, higher education, or a related field. </li><li>Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in higher education, including case management and crisis response. </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory, Care coordination, and risk evaluation models. </li><li>Familiarity with NABITA standards and the practices of Behavioral Intervention Teams. </li><li>Ability to lead with a trauma-informed, culturally competent, and equity-minded approach. </li><li>Experience supervising professional staff and leading multidisciplinary teams. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Certification or training in motivational interviewing, threat assessment, or related wellness frameworks. </li><li>Experience with Advocate case management software and/or Banner. </li><li>Experience in a primarily residential liberal arts setting. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>In-Person; one-day remote </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>At Clark University we believe that diversity of experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds leads to a more innovative and productive work environment.
