We do this by being deeply knowledgeable, fully capable, and always dependable, and our associates are the driving force behind this commitment.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Responsible for the design and development of new products and/or substantially redesigning existing products following industry regulations, cost, and quality guidelines.</p> <p>Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Participates in every stage of new product development, from ideation to product launch, and tests design concepts and prototypes.</p> </li><li> <p>Works closely with the management team to establish targets for improvements, redesigns, and enhancements to existing products.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts continuous research on new materials, processes, and procedures to enhance DSC capabilities and efficiencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Establishes budgets and schedules for the development of product improvements.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures that development progresses according to schedule and within budgetary guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates and collaborates in a cross-departmental environment to accomplish seamless transitions between product development stages.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes special studies as needed, including failure analysis of existing products.</p> </li><li> <p>Interfaces with both sales and customers to fulfill needs and resolve issues.</p> </li></ul> <p>Nature and Scope</p> <ul> <li> <p>Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.</p> </li><li> <p>Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.</p> </li><li> <p>May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior-level support or professional personnel.</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work will be split between an office environment and mechanical testing as required. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.</p> </li><li> <p>Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking and/or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight. Maximum unassisted lift of 35 pounds, average lift less than 20 pounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field.
