<p>Job Description</p> <p>The Hotel Pantry Cook position is responsible for the preparation, production, and presentation of a variety of foods, completion of production sheets and with other associated food service activities. This position will support or "cold cook" station, assisting with the preparation of cold sandwiches and salads for our grab-n-go program.</p> <p><em>This is a rotational position in Bethel, AK. The rotation schedule will be 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off. Lodging and three meals per day provided. The point of hire origins are Anchorage, AK at the YKHC Service Area.</em></p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Properly, safely, and efficiently prepare food products while following standard food-handling procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows assigned menu and recipes.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs all cold line food production duties assigned with specific items determined by assigned shift.</p> </li><li> <p>Preparing cold food items such as salads, cut fruit, sandwiches and cold desserts.</p> </li><li> <p>Review the needs of the day with the supervisor(s), completes production sheets, and verify supply needs and availability.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends daily CPM (Culinary planning meeting).</p> </li><li> <p>Attends CARES weekly meetings and participates.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for quantity and quality control in food production as well as overall sanitation of assigned areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure work areas are thoroughly cleaned and organized prior to the end of every shift, providing a seamless transition to the next shift or rotation.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows proper rotation procedures for produce and dairy products.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains food production equipment and storage areas following proper sanitation, safety, and operational procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Has ability to recognize and use proper PPE for the job tasks.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow all safety policies, requirements, and training.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or GED equivalent.</p> </li><li> <p>At least one (1) year of pantry cooking or relevant experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Cleaning and maintaining food service equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Contract requires candidate to get a flu shot pre-hire and annually thereafter.</p> </li><li> <p>Food Handler card, Alaska Food Workers card, or ServSafe certification within 30 days of employment.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Preference given to candidates with lodging industry experience. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Requirements</p> <p>Weather: Indoors</p> <p>Noise level: Moderate</p> <p>Office conditions: Pace of work environment: Medium</p> <p>Customer Interaction: High</p> <p>Description of environment: Hotel restaurant</p> <p>Constantly required to stand; frequently required to walk; occasionally required to lift, pull and push.</p> <p>Physical requirements: Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.</p> <p>Travel: None</p> <p>Competencies</p> <p>NMS Core Values</p> <p>Safety guides our behavior.</p> <p>Honesty and integrity govern our activities.</p> <p>Commitments made will be fulfilled.</p> <p>All individuals are treated with dignity and respect.</p> <p>The environment will be protected and sustained.</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer NANA Regional Corporation, Inc. and its subsidiaries are equal employment opportunity employers.
