<p>This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' The assistant is a support, entry level, individual contributor that works to ensure that all logistical elements are in place for the success of events. Employee coordinates with team members and others, such as Media and Ecclesiastical individuals, to ensure needs are met. May include solving last-minute issues, coordinating schedules, logistics planning, answering phone calls, and ushering guests.</p> <p>Reports to manager of supervisor level in any MTC department</p> <p>Responsibilities may include:</p> <ul> <li>Communicates with volunteers, coordinators, and supervisor to acquire and organize the details needed to run successful shifts and events. </li><li>Contacts individuals involved in the events as needed </li><li>Prepares and maintain equipment needed for the event </li><li>Acts as a professional liaison for ecclesiastical needs and requests during events </li><li>Assists in overseeing team of service missionaries assigned to the event </li><li>Assists as an usher and mic runner </li><li>Informs attendees concerning event agenda and facilities </li><li>Maintains a professional atmosphere, making sure the classrooms and hallways look appropriate during event </li><li>Other duties and responsibilities as designated </li><li>May be required to work certain days of the week/year, and take shifts at certain times </li></ul> <p>May assist in additional lead responsibilities including:</p> <ul> <li>Arranges all travel, hotel, and shuttle accommodations for all event attendees </li><li>Serves as first contact for event attendees for all questions and details regarding event </li><li>Coordinates event activities </li><li>Plans and carries out all logistics for meals, meetings, training groups, check in, parking and departures </li><li>Assists in supervising part-time event staff </li></ul> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>1 year of part-time work experience </li><li>Professionalism </li><li>Leadership capabilities and excellent interpersonal skills </li><li>Strong written and oral communication </li><li>Organized </li><li>Willing to take direction </li><li>Confidentiality </li><li>Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform movements for extended periods of time, including holding doors and operating elevators </li><li>Ability to move around a meeting room and/or MTC campus </li><li>To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using monitors/equipment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>2 years college and 2 years part-time work experience </li><li>Experience in large scale activity planning </li><li>Experience with MS Excel, InDesign </li><li>Spanish and Portuguese fluency helpful </li><li>Experience as an MTC employee </li></ul>
