<p>We are seeking Adjunct Faculty to teach Biological and Physical Sciences. We are looking for individuals to teach in the following areas; Biology, Human Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Physiology of Disease, Chemistry (Intro and Organic), and Physics.</p> <p>Courses are offered in the traditional 15-week and 12-week semesters and meet twice or three times a week during the morning, afternoon and evening. Accelerated courses are offered during the 6A/6B semester and meet four times a week throughout the semester.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Teach assigned classes in accordance with the College's academic calendar and approved syllabi. </li><li>Meet all scheduled class sessions. </li><li>Maintain and report accurate student grade and attendance records using approved procedures and systems. </li><li>Participate in assessment activities in support of the PCCC institutional effectiveness program. </li><li>Utilize the appropriate technology, including the College's student learning platform, to fulfill teaching duties. </li><li>Maintain communication with the College, department, and students via the College's assigned email and LMS. </li><li>Adhere to the guidelines contained in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook (Link can be found at pccc.edu) </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A Master's degree in the respective field and teaching experience are required. </li><li>Familiarity with teaching adult learners. </li><li>College level teaching experience preferred but not required. </li><li>Experience teaching with a Learning Management system (LMS) such as Blackboard is preferred but not required. </li><li>Ability to teach concurrently or remotely via Zoom is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <p>Please specify, in your cover letter, what days and times you are available to teach. Lectures are typically 1 hour and 15 minutes twice a week. Labs are 2 hours and 30 minutes once a week and are immediately before or after the lecture. Faculty are required to teach both the lecture and the lab for each course.</p> <p>The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.</p> <p>Compensation: The pay for this position is $929 per credit taught.</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Employee Assistance Program provides free, confidential, limited counseling services, work-life assistance, legal and financial guidance. </li><li>Commuter Benefits: Free parking access is provided on site.
