<p>Seasonal Fair & Rodeo Assistant</p> <p>Employment Type: 1 - Full-time Temporary</p> <p>Pay Range: $20.00 - 20.00</p> <p>Location: Castle Rock, CO</p> <p>Overtime Exempt: N</p> <p>Elected Office / Department: FACILITIES</p> <p>The Fair & Rodeo Assistant is responsible for assisting in the operational preparation and execution of the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo. This position is a fast paced and interactive experience that provides a glimpse into everything that goes on behind the scenes during and leading up to the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo and the corresponding PRCA Rodeo performances.</p> <p>The typical hiring rate is $20 per hour.</p> <p>As a temporary position, no benefits are available.</p> <p>This temporary position is expected to run from January to August but can go longer or shorter, depending on the workload needs and budget of our department.</p> <p>View the full job description here</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.)</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with all levels of Fair & Rodeo leadership to assist in the operational execution of the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo. </li><li>Assist with the planning and execution of social media management, graphic design work, and sponsor relations. </li><li>Provide general administrative and clerical support for the annual Fair & Rodeo. </li><li>Assist with daily preparation of materials (i.e., show programs, awards, premius, etc.) </li><li>Assist with coordination of Special Events and VIP experiences. </li><li>Work on special projects as assigned by Fair & Rodeo Staff. </li><li>Attend, participate and provide support for all Board and Committee meetings. </li><li>Maintain venue quality, consisting of maintaining the look of the facility and working with internal departments to create smooth and successful events. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Requires a High School Diploma or GED and current enrollment in a current related undergraduate program. </li><li>Strong communication and organizational skills required. </li><li>Experience with social media platforms and graphic design software. </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License upon internship inquiry, with complying insurance. </li><li>This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting through a national database. </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:</p> <p>Closing Date: 1/2/2026 5:59PM MST. This may mean being available to perform additional duties and hours beyond what is normally required. In the event that an exempt employee does work more than 40 hours a week in support of County operations during an emergency, such employee may receive overtime or other appropriate wage compensation in accordance with existing County policies or at the discretion of the County.</p>
