Therefore, we seek applicants who can demonstrate their understanding of justice and who can inspire our increasingly diverse student population.</p> <p>This is a 10-month role working August-May.</p> <p>The therapist conducts personal short-term counseling with students, making appropriate off-campus referrals. The therapist works as part of a team of individuals in the Walter Young Center providing mental health counseling.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conducts assessments, identify needs, and develop treatment plans for short-term personal counseling with students. Effectively engages, retains and manages caseload. Develops and implements appropriate discharge or transfer planning with student and relevant parties and conducts necessary follow-up. </li><li>Makes appropriate off-campus referrals </li><li>Meets with Director of Counseling Services to review cases </li><li>Documents, organizes and manages confidential client records in accordance with professional standards and state and federal law </li><li>Assists in the development and delivery of educational programming on student mental health issues </li><li>Assists in the creation and management of social media content </li><li>Serves as a consultant and resource person for faculty and staff regarding the mental health of individual students </li><li>Promotes counseling services through presentations to students, faculty, and staff. </li><li>Develops and maintains a positive relationship with University faculty, staff, and students; student families and partners, and local mental health care providers. </li><li>Responds to campus crisis situations as needed. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education and/or Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in counseling or social work required </li><li>Valid clinical licensure for the State of Wisconsin required </li><li>4+ years' of postgraduate degree experience is preferred. </li><li>Strong knowledge and skill working with mental health issues in the college student population </li><li>Understanding of insurance and the referral process </li><li>Experience with college-age population preferred </li></ul> <p>Human Relations Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type. </li><li>Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality is essential. </li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. </li><li>Client focused sense of urgency and responsiveness. </li><li>Ability to listen effectively, work independently and as part of a team. </li><li>Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. </li><li>Attention to detail and accuracy. </li></ul> <p>Additional Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>This position may require weekend and/or evening hours </li><li>Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission. </li></ul> <p>Please submit a cover letter and resume for this position along with this electronic application.</p> <p>Carroll University makes employment opportunities available to qualified individuals whose skills and experience make them suitable candidates for placement.
