<p>Job Description</p> <p>Job Title: Patient Service Representative</p> <p>Reports to: Dental Practice Manager</p> <p>Department: Dental</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Grade: 4</p> <p>Version Date: 08/11/2023</p> <p>General Responsibilities:</p> <p>The Dental Patient Service Representative is responsible for welcoming and assisting patients with; scheduling of appointments, taking charge of all aspects of registering the patient, answering all incoming calls, collecting charges, taking complete and accurate messages, and documenting appropriately. Takes complete and accurate messages, schedules appointments, takes charge of all aspects of registering patients, answers all incoming calls, collects charges for the office visit.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>Accurate data entry skills</p> <p>Excellent communication skills</p> <p>Minimum High School diploma or associate degree</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Medical terminology, diagnosis coding and billing procedure knowledge</p> <p>Experience with dental insurance and payment collections.</p> <p>Candidates who do not meet all of the preferred qualifications are encouraged to apply.</p> <p>Significant Job Functions:</p> <p>Prepares patient records for dental visits,</p> <p>Verifies dental insurance and Patient copays due at the dental visit.</p> <p>Responsible for complete and accurate data entry of all information which includes patient registration, encounter billing information and changes in insurance information.</p> <p>Correctly identifies appropriateness of appointment scheduling.</p> <p>Confirmation calls</p> <p>Responsible for assisting in answering all incoming calls, taking accurate messages.</p> <p>Collects payments, obtains referrals to specialist and schedules upcoming appointments when necessary.</p> <p>Provides reports of daily productivity, daily collection to the Practice Manager</p> <p>Physical Effort/ Environment:</p> <p>General office environment. Must be able to operate PC, answer multiple incoming.</p> <p>telephone lines, take accurate written messages, verify all insurance coverages and files.</p> <p>Moderate physical activity, walking, standing, sitting, bending, and stretching.</p> <p>Duties are performed on site.</p> <p>Work Schedule Demands:</p> <p>40 Hours</p> <p>As determined with department hiring needs.</p> <p>Must be available for overtime, including nights and weekends when necessary.</p> <p>Communication Skills:</p> <p>Must have exemplary customer service skills, including professional telephone manners in conjunction with excellent oral communication ability for all levels of client interaction.</p> <p>Confidentiality of Information:</p> <p>Thundermist is dedicated in securing the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
