This job is full-time permanent.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Reports to the Department Supervisor. Provides detailed maintenance planning and support of maintenance processes, department, and mill goals. This position backfills for Supervisor(s) when absent. Work is performed onsite and not eligible for remote work.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan maintenance work while meeting the Safety, Environmental, Quality, Production and Cost goals of the department and mill. </li><li>Plan for the safe and efficient execution of work orders by including safety requirements in the job plan, accurate estimating of labor, materials and duration of jobs as well as procuring required resources, equipment, and materials. </li><li>Process owner for shutdown plans to maintain/improve production reliability and safety. </li><li>Process owner for accuracy of records in maintenance data systems. </li><li>Responsible for maintenance parts and materials availability. </li><li>Manage projects and contractors as needed. </li><li>Back fill during Maintenance Supervisor absences. </li><li>Assigned rotating, weekend On-Call duties. </li></ul> <p>Key Competencies:</p> <p>Safety:</p> <ul> <li>Abides by all company safety expectations and role models safe behavior. </li><li>Understands the work performed vs. policies/processes to ensure work is being done safely. </li><li>Develops relationships based on caring and ensures employees adhere to safety expectations. </li><li>Actively participates in mill and company safety initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Leadership/People:</p> <ul> <li>Leads by example. </li><li>Sets clear expectations for crews and supports crews in achieving desired results. </li><li>Knowledgeable of the union contract and commitment to work within agreement to achieve goals. </li><li>Assists staff in conflict resolution when needed. </li><li>Builds positive relationships within the areas and with cross functional teams. </li></ul> <p>Results Oriented:</p> <ul> <li>Meets agreed upon objectives and achieves results aligned with company goals and values. </li><li>Recognizes and initiates necessary work without direct supervision. </li></ul> <p>Flexibility:</p> <ul> <li>Willingness to take on projects that push you and the team to overcome challenges. </li><li>Able to work across functional teams and interface with multiple departments. </li><li>Effectively uses time and resources to achieve desired results. </li></ul> <p>Technical Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>3 -5 years of Maintenance relevant maintenance experience or B.S. in engineering or associate degree in a maintenance related field. </li><li>General understanding of maintenance in an industrial setting. </li><li>Working knowledge of planning and scheduling using a maintenance planning tools including as SAP or other. </li><li>Working knowledge of prints and drawings needed to create work plans. </li><li>Attention to detail within processes including safety expectations, work planning and systems documentation. </li><li>Ability to communicate and work effectively with outside resources (i.e., vendors, contractors, sales, etc.) and across functional teams. </li></ul> <p>You will be required to successfully complete a selection process that could include interviews, an employment background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness-for-duty test (for some positions).</p> <p>Domtar is an equal-opportunity employer.
