<p>PRIMARY PURPOSE:</p> <p>As a Cook Helper, you will be responsible for being knowledgeable of food products.</p> <p>Position Status: Hourly, Full-Time</p> <p>Location: Gold Strike Casino</p> <p>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure requisitions are processed properly and placed in the designated area. </li><li>Maintain solid knowledge of food products. </li><li>Identify and safely use kitchen equipment. </li><li>Regularly run for food and restock kitchen supplies and food items required for service. </li><li>Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation. </li><li>Assist the pantry worker, cook, master cook, and chef as needed in the execution of service. </li><li>Work as a team and assist guests and employees with their needs and inquiries. </li><li>Perform other job-related duties as requested. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Six (6) months of experience in basic food preparation. </li><li>Experience working in a similar resort setting. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to apply basic knife skills for preparation. </li><li>Maintain a solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation. </li><li>Communicate with management, chef, and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and employees. </li><li>Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations. </li><li>Able to take initiative and exhibit flexibility. </li><li>Highly motivated and energetic personality. </li><li>Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>This role includes frequent standing and bending. </li><li>Constant walking, reaching, balancing, and grasping items in a food preparation area. </li><li>It also includes lifting carrying and pushing up to 50 lbs. </li></ul> <p>This position may require strenuous physical activities and exposure to pipe, cigar, and/or cigarette smoking.
