<p>The Assistant/Associate Director of Alumni Engagement will create and implement programs and initiatives that fully embrace the identities, experiences, and backgrounds of the alumni community. Founded in 1819, Colgate is a small, highly selective residential liberal arts college for students of talent who are preparing for lives of leadership and productive citizenship. The University is currently engaged in a $1B campaign in support of the Third-Century Plan, a comprehensive roadmap that will advance Colgate's efforts to pursue its mission at the highest level and establish Colgate as one of the finest undergraduate institutions in the nation. One of the components-the Plan for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)- stands as Colgate's most definitive plan in 200 years for elevating the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the institution.</p> <p>Accountabilities</p> <p>Accountable for creation and delivery of programs and events to strengthen alumni engagement. Responsible for developing programming in ways that enhance understanding of the University and the Third-Century Plan.</p> <p>Responsible for creating and implementing annual plans that lead to greater alumni participation, innovative and robust programming, and stronger ties between alumni and the University, with one another, and with students.</p> <p>Accountable for creative programming and management of alumni volunteers across the world. Responsible for effective recruitment, management, training, and engagement of volunteers.</p> <p>Responsible for preparing written briefing documents for engagement opportunities.</p> <p>Technical Competencies</p> <p>Name Data Synthesis and Use Description</p> <p>Demonstrated understanding of relational database concepts as typically found in key enterprise systems such as CRMs. Demonstrated ability to manipulate spreadsheets to create and format data for optimal analysis. Demonstrated ability to specify data sets required for analysis, arrange data sets within analytical tools (e.g. spreadsheets or Tableau) and execute accurate analysis.</p> <p>Name Opportunity Closing Description</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to learn and apply key concepts and techniques related to closing of opportunities. Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles that add value to closing opportunities in defined area for defined targets including Alumni Relations, Parents' Fund, Planned Giving, Corporate, Foundation and Government Relations, Major Gifts, and Annual Giving.
