If you applied previously, you must apply again to be considered.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Install, repair and replace cylinder and key locks and door closers </li><li>Panic bars and/or related locking hardware/devices </li><li>Lubricates and adjusts locks and locking devices (e.g., changes combinations on safes, replaces tumblers and/or padlocks) </li><li>Repairs electronic locking devices </li><li>Installs deadbolts, makes master locks and keys </li><li>Makes new keys using various machinery (e.g., key duplicator, key cutter, grinder) for doors, cupboards, filing cabinets, medication cabinets and carts, fire alarm boxes and other items </li><li>Maintains and repairs parts fabrication of locks in cell blocks, doors, cabinets and/or safes </li><li>Performs preventive maintenance on locks and doors (e.g., inspects locks for wear and malfunction, changes locking devices for security purposes, lubricates, aligns) </li><li>Operates personal computer to prepare and maintain work related records, documentation and/or reports </li><li>Keeps records of all door locks within facility </li><li>Maintains identification of keys and keeps records of keys issued </li><li>Maintains inventory of parts, material and equipment needed and issued and prepares requisitions </li><li>Prepares periodic reports and responds to information requests </li><li>Repairs doors, frames and/or hinges if needed for lock repair </li><li>Makes chits (i.e., identification tags) for employees, key rings, vehicles and other devices as needed </li><li>Maintains, programs and enters information in electronic key system (i.e., Morse Watchman) </li><li>Serves on institutional committees </li><li>Attends training, seminars and/or meetings as required </li><li>Performs security functions as required (e.g., man-down, shakedown, inmate movement) </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in locksmithing; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in inventory control.</p> <ul> <li>Or equivalent Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. </li></ul> <p>Job Skills: Trades, General Maintenance, Responsiveness, Flexibility, Time Management</p>
