<p>Description</p> <p>This is highly skilled and technical level trades work performing complex repairs andmaintenance on Lee County bridges and street lighting systems. That's why we offer our employees a premier place to work by providing competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits, as well as being a participant in a robust State of Florida pension and investment retirement plans.</p> <p>Benefits Include:</p> <ul> <li>Healthcare Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance </li><li>Disability Insurance: Both short-term and long-term options </li><li>Life Insurance: Including Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) </li><li>Financial Planning: Flexible Spending Accounts for both medical and dependent care </li><li>Support Programs: Access to our Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Paid Time Off: Enjoy 11 paid holidays, along with generous vacation and sick leave </li><li>Recognition and Appreciation: Through our employee appreciation and peer recognition programs </li><li>Professional Development: Take advantage of numerous employee development opportunities </li></ul> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for installation, service, overhaul, and repair of all sizes of mechanical itemsto include; pumps, motors, generators, bridge gates, bridge controls, as well asassociated bridge fender and navigational lighting. </li><li>Repair and replacement of street lights and street light power centers. </li><li>May assist traffic signal technicians. </li><li>Occasionally serve as crew leader when needed. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Education, Experience, Licensing</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Requires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to graduation fromhigh school or GED and two (2) years of experience in motor control, electrical tradeand/or a closely related field. </li><li>This is a safety-sensitive position, which is subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testingas provided in DOT regulation 49 CFR-Parts 40 and/or 382. </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certification</p> <ul> <li>Requires possession of IMOT and Level I Roadway Lighting IMSA certification within six (6) months of hire date oremployment will end. </li><li>Possession of a Level II IMSA Certification in Traffic Signals, IMSA Level I Certification in Street Lighting and Maintenance of Traffic or the ability to obtain certification within one (1) year of the hire date is required. </li><li>Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Learners Permit and an acceptable driving record at the time of offer with the ability to obtain a valid Class B CDL with Air Brakes endorsement within six (6) monthsof hire date is required. </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <ul> <li>Preferably hold a Professional Electrical Journeyman's License. </li><li>Skilled in operating small machinery and hand tools. </li><li>Capable of working from blueprints and sketches. </li><li>Able to operate a 55' bucket truck with a pole-setting jib. </li><li>Physically able to lift up to 60 pounds and climb ladders/scaffolding. </li><li>Knowledgeable of codes, rules, and regulations governing the job. </li><li>Self-starter with the ability to work independently. </li><li>Team player, as additional hours are often required to complete tasks. </li></ul> <p>The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.</p>
