Located in the heart of downtown SLC, Neumont is looking for vivacious and dynamic employees to join our small family team and start making a difference!</p> <p>Neumont University has an immediate opening for a full-time Faculty (tech) to teach within our bachelor programs. Specifically, Faculty at Neumont University are responsible for educating students in accordance with the Neumont teaching methodology, which focuses on active learning and engaging students in the learning environment. Faculty members are also responsible for grading and providing valuable feedback to students in a timely manner, mentoring students in groups or individually, redesigning and evaluating curriculum. This position is also responsible for creating and assessing masters program coursework and materials, and other activities related to effective instruction.</p> <p>The ideal candidate has 4 years minimum experience working in software engineering and agentic AI and is familiar with the following:</p> <p>CORE LANGUAGES & FRAMEWORK</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Essentials </li><li>Python </li><li>Java </li><li>JavaScript / TypeScript (ReactJS or Angular or VueJs) </li><li>Object oriented programming and design </li><li>REST APIs </li><li>SQL </li></ul> <p>Nice to have (or willing to learn quickly):</p> <ul> <li>No-SQL databases (key-value, document, column family, etc.) </li><li>C# </li><li>Mobile app dev (React Native/Flutter) </li><li>UI/UX fundamentals </li><li>Algorithms and data structures </li><li>Agile/Scrum SDLC methodologies </li></ul> <p>AGENTIC AI SPECIFIC</p> <p>Essentials:</p> <ul> <li>LLM integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) </li><li>Prompt engineering </li><li>Agentic AI tasks, workflows, skills, tools, etc. </li></ul> <p>Nice to have (or willing to learn quickly):</p> <ul> <li>Vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma) </li><li>RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) </li><li>Agentic frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI) </li><li>Machine learning fundamentals </li><li>LLM evaluation frameworks (LangSmith, Ragas, evals, etc.) </li><li>Multi-agent orchestration </li><li>AI governance, safety, and compliance </li><li>Infrastructure & Tools </li></ul> <p>Essentials:</p> <ul> <li>Docker </li><li>Git / version control </li></ul> <p>Nice to have:</p> <ul> <li>Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) </li><li>Teaching and Pedagogy </li></ul> <p>SOFTSKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Willingness to learn </li><li>Ability to connect with students </li><li>Care an interest in student success </li></ul> <p>Nice to have:</p> <ul> <li>Prior teaching/mentoring experience </li><li>Comfort with active learning techniques </li><li>Curriculum development experience </li><li>Experience in project based/problem-based learning environments </li></ul> <p>TASKS, DUTIES, & RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:</p> <ul> <li>Implement new ideas and best practices in teaching and project-based learning </li><li>Submit all teaching materials to Neumont vault upon completion of each course </li><li>Work with supervisor and Program Chair to identify areas for personal development and course improvement </li><li>Utilize feedback from mid-quarter and end-of-quarter evaluations to improve teaching </li><li>Identify innovative teaching methods to solve curricular problems </li><li>Attend faculty meetings </li><li>Collaborate with other faculty members to improve student outcomes across all course offerings </li><li>Additional duties as requested by Faculty Director which include: </li><li>Course supervision </li><li>Course development </li><li>Committee membership </li><li>Faculty mentoring </li><li>Peer observations </li><li>Academic metrics </li></ul> <p>Instruction</p> <ul> <li>Cover all material defined in the course description and syllabus </li><li>Maintain and meet the listed student learning goals </li><li>Utilize the Neumont LMS to keep an updated syllabus, course materials, and grades </li><li>Provide a safe learning environment for students </li><li>Answer and deal respectfully with student complaints and problems </li><li>Develop effective assessments that measure student learning </li><li>Provide timely and accurate feedback to students assignments, exams, projects, etc. </li><li>Hold at a minimum 1-2 hours of open office hours per weekday </li><li>Meet expectations of course schedule as set by the academic calendar and quarterly schedule </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Considerable theoretical and applied understanding of all subjects covered in all assigned courses </li><li>Experienced in team-based project management </li><li>Experienced with project-based learning methodologies </li><li>Strong knowledge of pedagogy and effective teaching strategies </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication </li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to follow through on assignments </li><li>Punctuality and reliability </li><li>Team management </li><li>Team building </li><li>Conflict resolution </li></ul> <p>Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Quickly learn and become an expert in new subjects </li><li>Provide feedback to students on how to improve their academic performance </li><li>Build successful mentor relationships with students </li><li>Work collaboratively as well as independently </li><li>Demonstrate discretion and maintain confidentiality </li><li>Comfortable with ambiguity </li><li>Problem-solving </li><li>Work ethically </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Teaching experience a plus </li><li>Bachelors degree in related field, Masters degree is preferred </li><li>Minimum four years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) to be taught </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Minimum eight years of outstanding professional experience </li><li>With outstanding contributions to the occupational field of study </li></ul> <p>SCHEDULE:</p> <ul> <li>Full-time, 40+hours week </li><li>Exempt position </li><li>Occasional evenings and weekends, with advance notice (Rare) </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO: Vice President, Academic Operations</p> <p>SUPERVISES: None</p>
