<p>Job Title: Computer Science/Technology Teacher (Grades 6-12)</p> <p>Location: Delphi Community High School & Delphi Community Middle School</p> <p>Department: STEM/Technology</p> <p>Reports To: School Principal</p> <p>Job Type: Full-Time- Certified</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>Delphi Community High School and Middle School seek a passionate and knowledgeable Computer Science/Technology Teacher to instruct and inspire students in grades 6-12. The ideal candidate will design and deliver an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum that develops students' understanding of computer science principles, digital literacy, and technology applications. The teacher will foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration while preparing students for future academic and career opportunities in technology.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Instructional Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Teach introductory computer science and technology courses (e.g., coding, robotics, digital media, IT basics). </li><li>Adapt lessons for middle and high school learners with varying skill levels. </li><li>Integrate technology into the classroom in meaningful ways that enhance learning across subjects. </li><li>Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles. </li><li>Promote digital citizenship and responsible online behavior. </li></ul> <p>Curriculum Development:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and update curriculum in alignment with state standards </li><li>Incorporate project-based learning and real-world applications of technology. </li><li>Stay current with technology trends and emerging tools relevant to education and industry. </li></ul> <p>Assessment and Evaluation:</p> <ul> <li>Create and administer formative and summative assessments. </li><li>Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents. </li><li>Track and report student progress and adjust instruction as needed. </li></ul> <p>Classroom Management:</p> <ul> <li>Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning. </li><li>Enforce school policies and maintain classroom discipline. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration and Communication:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support cross-curricular tech integration. </li><li>Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff. </li><li>Participate in school-wide technology initiatives and professional development. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or related field.</p> <p>Valid teaching certification/license or willingness to start a Transition to Teaching Program.</p> <p>Skills and Competencies:</p> <p>Passion for technology and education</p> <p>Strong classroom management and organizational skills</p> <p>Ability to motivate and inspire diverse learners</p> <p>Effective communicator and team player</p> <p>Growth mindset and willingness to adapt and learn</p> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Standard school hours with occasional evening or weekend commitments (e.g., tech clubs, school events).</p> <p>Use of standard classroom technology and computer lab equipment.</p> <p>Participation in school-wide responsibilities and duties as assigned.</p> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <ul> <li>184 days </li><li>Salary established by Master Contractual Agreement </li><li>Work year established by the Board </li></ul>
