<p>Description:</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>La Red Health Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Postpartum Doula / Case Manager to join our team and make a meaningful impact on families during one of life's most significant transitions. As an essential part of the obstetrical care team, you will support mothers and families during the postpartum period, also known as the "fourth trimester," ensuring their physical, emotional, and informational needs are met, continuum of care is maintained, and the newborn is connected to care. Key to this position is the incumbent's ability to create new relationships with women served on the mobile health unit (in Sussex based community locations) and to continue to nurture those relationships for women, their newborn, and family members, within the primary care, ambulatory setting.</p> <p>Our ideal candidates are trained doulas with a passion for women's health and perinatal care, who are committed to providing holistic, patient-centered care. Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish, English, and/or Haitian Creole are encouraged to apply.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Physical Comfort & Recovery: Assist mothers in their physical recovery after childbirth, providing opportunities for rest and self-care. </li><li>Emotional Support: Offer reassuring emotional support to new parents as they navigate the joys and challenges of the postpartum period. </li><li>Infant Care: Demonstrate newborn care techniques, including feeding, diapering, and soothing, ensuring parents feel confident in their caregiving abilities. </li><li>Informational Support: Provide evidence-based guidance on infant care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery. </li><li>Home Visitation: Periodic home visits to check patient and family adaptation to new child in the home. Facilitate education and resource linkage for family members in need of support through onset of new family dynamics. </li><li>Advocacy & Communication: Act as an advocate for new parents, assisting with communication with healthcare providers and accessing necessary resources. </li><li>Resource Referrals: Connect parents to additional community resources and support services as needed. </li><li>Partnership Cultivation: Maintain positive community-based relationships with health stakeholders who also support women and family continuum of care. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Training & Certification: Completion of a postpartum doula training program and certification. </li><li>CPR Certification: Required. </li><li>Experience: Experience in postpartum care and/or newborn care is preferred. </li><li>Skills: Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support diverse family needs. </li><li>Language Skills: English Fluency and bilingual skills preferred. </li><li>Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check. </li><li>Hours: Flexibility is required to accommodate the needs of families during various hours. </li></ul> <p>Ideal Candidate:</p> <ul> <li>Empathy & Compassion: You bring an empathetic, non-judgmental approach to supporting new parents through their postpartum journey. </li><li>Holistic Care: You value holistic, patient-centered care and are committed to providing emotional, physical, and informational support to families. </li><li>Collaborative Spirit: You thrive in a team-oriented environment and work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide the best care possible. </li><li>Community-Oriented: You are dedicated to connecting families with the resources they need to thrive, both during the postpartum period and beyond. </li></ul> <p>Why Work at La Red Health Center?</p> <p>La Red Health Center is a federally qualified health center (FQHC) serving Sussex County, Delaware.
