<p>This Opportunity</p> <p>This Opportunity</p> <p>WSP is currently initiating a search for an Entry Level Inspector to be based out of Glastonbury, Connecticut office. This role can also be based in Hartford, CT. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.</p> <p>Your Impact</p> <ul> <li>Provide inspection services for various construction operations in the field. </li><li>Assist inspection staff with performing field tests of construction materials. </li><li>Prepare daily work reports and assist other team members in inspection and report preparation. </li><li>Perform calculations for quantity payment items used in preparation of contract payments. </li><li>Participate in field meetings and ensure the contractor field staff are conforming to all health and safety standards. </li><li>Assist office staff with checking contractor payrolls and other submissions. </li><li>Address any field concerns which arise from the field with the Chief Inspector and/or Resident Engineer. </li><li>Work with the Contractor to minimize disruptions to the public. </li><li>Pro-actively review the contract documents to anticipate, identify, and discuss with Chief Inspector and/or </li><li>Resident Engineer how to resolve conflicts and recommend improvements. </li><li>Keep the Chief Inspector and/or Resident Engineer informed on all contract discrepancies and differing field conditions. </li><li>Be actively involved with Maintenance and Protection of Traffic detour setups and maintenance to minimize any potential concerns from the public. </li><li>Identify potential scheduling impacts and elevate concerns to Resident Engineer. </li><li>Electronic entry of data and reports into web-based construction management software application </li><li>Exposure to highway and construction environments and year-round weather conditions </li><li>Potential for working days, nights, and weekends </li><li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Required Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma </li><li>Minimum of 7 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior construction inspection experience. </li><li>Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation. </li><li>Team oriented </li><li>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Construction Management </li><li>FE License a plus </li><li>NICET I or equivalent </li></ul> <p>WSP Benefits:</p> <p>WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee's career.
