<p>Job Overview:</p> <p>The McHenry County Department of Public Health is seeing a full-time Administrative Specialist to join the Maternal Child Health team.</p> <p>Under general supervision is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support in an office or clinic setting. Possesses accurate, computer data entry and form development skills and provides technical support for program personnel and activities. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30 p.m., 37.50 hours per week</p> <p>Job Function:</p> <ul> <li>Answers phone, takes messages, screens calls, provides information to callers, and directs calls and messages to appropriate person </li><li>Photocopies reports, charts, records and other documents for staff </li><li>Performs data entry activities as assigned </li><li>Serves as a resource for other division personnel when necessary </li><li>Schedules client appointments into proper program as assigned </li><li>Types letters, memos, charts, labels, reports and other correspondence </li><li>Creates/maintains required program forms, spreadsheets and databases as assigned </li><li>Files and retrieves charts and/or documents in orderly fashion </li><li>Supports the development of computer-based educational and promotional materials including but not limited to brochures, flyers and posters </li><li>Receives cash and issues receipts to clients per program policy and procedure </li><li>Delivers and obtains interoffice mail as scheduled </li><li>Determines financial eligibility for program services according to requirements and guidelines per program </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>One or two years of experience performing general office duties; or </li><li>Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. </li><li>Bilingual preferred, competency testing to be completed </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or associate's degree </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>4 Medical plans, 2 dental plans, and 2 vision plans to choose from. </li><li>Pension: Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) </li><li>Nationwide Retirement Solutions (457 and Roth457) plans </li><li>Standard Life insurance policy with the option to buy up additional coverage for EE and dependents. </li><li>Tuition Reimbursement and Student Loan Repayment Programs </li><li>Paid vacation, sick, personal days and 13 paid holidays. </li></ul> <p>Must be able to successfully pass a background screening.</p> <p>McHenry County is an equal opportunity employer.
