<p>The NewsNation Associate Producer is responsible for contributing story ideas, writing stories and segments, compiling elements to support those stories, and organizing them within an energetic and memorable way for the daily broadcast of Elizabeth Vargas Reports. The position in the network's New York offices.</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Pitches story ideas </li><li>Researches production topics using the Internet, video archives, and other information sources </li><li>Gathers elements: video, stills, user generated content </li><li>Makes graphics requests when needed </li><li>Writes editorial copy </li><li>Assist in preparing and executing live correspondent hits or guests segments </li><li>Perform other tasks as assigned by show leaders or news management </li></ul> <p>Requirements & Skills:</p> <ul> <li>BA/BS degree or equivalent degree in journalism or related field </li><li>Two to three years' experience in national or major-market television news </li><li>Strong writing skills required </li><li>Ability to create dynamic graphic and video elements </li><li>Must be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work will with a diverse group of people </li><li>Interact well with on-air talent, news managers, videographers, production, digital and engineering staff </li><li>Detail-oriented </li><li>Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills </li><li>Handle stress, including short deadlines </li><li>Work at a computer for extended periods of time </li><li>Must be able to work assigned shifts and be on call during overnights, mornings and weekends/holidays </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 (commensurate with experience)</p> <p>Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
