<p>The Laborer position reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and is required to perform various golf course maintenance related tasks in a safe, efficient and courteous manner. The Laborer will be required to work outside with extended shifts, early mornings, weekends and holidays.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Mow greens, tees, surrounds, rough and out-of-play areas with turf equipment developed specifically for golf course operations. </li><li>Prune trees and shrubs to maintain quality vegetation and a positive golfing experience. </li><li>Change golf course setup. </li><li>Assist staff with landscaping and construction projects. </li><li>Maintain sand bunkers. </li></ul> <p>OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Any other tasks applicable to golf course maintenance. </li><li>Perform basic housekeeping duties as needed. </li></ul> <p>TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to safely operate riding mowers, push mowers, string trimmers, shrub trimmers, cup changers, tractors up to 25 HP and pick-up trucks. </li><li>Ability to withstand a variety of temperature and weather extremes. </li><li>Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions and carry out those instructions with limited supervision. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public and to deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner. </li><li>Ability to work irregular schedules based on weather, projects, operations, etc. </li><li>Must provide own safety-toed shoes. </li><li>Must possess a valid driver's license. </li><li>Must be at least eighteen years of age. </li></ul> <p>EMPLOYMENT PERIOD:  March - November</p> <p> WORK SCHEDULE:  Flexible hours between 5:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Weekends and holidays.</p> <p> Days per week:  Varied</p> <p> Hours per week:  up to 40</p> <p> </p> <p> Grade 3</p>
