<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>THIS POSITION IS REPOSTED - Previous applicants are still under consideration and do not need to reapply* </li></ul> <p>This Education Associate position is on the Educator Preparation team in the Office of Educator Services. The individual in this position will</p> <ul> <li>Support the accreditation of South Carolina educator preparation providers and the development, approval, and continuing review of educator preparation programs, including traditional college- and university-based programs as well as alternative routes to teacher preparation. </li><li>Provide technical assistance to provider and program faculty and staff in all phases of the accreditation and program approval processes. </li><li>Develop and implement policies and procedures related to educator preparation and accountability, with a focus on program effectiveness and continuous improvement. </li><li>Serve as the primary contact for assigned traditional and alternative route educator preparation providers. </li><li>Serve as the designated lead for one of the following, as assigned: provider accreditation, program approval, alternative route preparation, or data and reporting. </li><li>Facilitate, conduct, and serve on the Professional Review Committee as well as other committees and workgroups related to educator preparation and certification. </li><li>Represent the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) and Office of Educator Services with stakeholders including other SCDE offices and state agencies, education deans, provider faculty and staff, school districts, and other entities. </li><li>Prepare and present items for information or approval by the South Carolina Board of Education and other entities. </li><li>Analyze and utilize data to inform decisions about provider and program effectiveness, to create presentations, and publish and present reports and findings. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A bachelor's degree and experience in education, management or business.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's or doctorate degree in education, business, public administration or a related field. </li><li>Five (5) years of experience working as a teacher or leader in a PK-12 education setting or as a faculty or staff member in teacher preparation in a college, university, or alternative route program. </li><li>Knowledge of policies, procedures, and trends related to educator preparation, provider accreditation, initial and ongoing program approval, and program evaluation and effectiveness. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to facilitate presentations, meetings, and workgroups. </li><li>Effective data analysis, program evaluation, and reporting skills. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to innovate, problem-solve, and use discretion and sound judgment in decision-making. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>ONLY THOSE APPLICANTS CHOSEN FOR AN INTERVIEW WILL BE NOTIFIED BY LETTER THAT THE POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED.http://www.ed.sc.gov/jobs/human-resources/title-ix-nondiscrimination/</p>
