<p>Position Title On-Call Media Services Technician Department Media Services -Group Pay Type Non Exempt Appointment Type (A) On Call Hours Per Week 0-10 Number of weeks Other (Benefits Ineligible) other - # of weeks 52 Benefits Eligible No Benefits Geographical Regional Qualifies for Relocation Reimbursement No Work Schedule</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>General Scope of Duties</p> <p>Provide independent A/V delivery, setup, and technical support for various campus events,</p> <p>primarily during evenings and weekends, as assigned by the Assistant Director of Media</p> <p>Services and Technology Planning. Responsibilities include basic maintenance, troubleshooting,</p> <p>and minor repair of A/V and multimedia equipment.</p> <p>This is a per diem, on-call position, scheduled on an as-needed basis. On-call employees are not</p> <p>eligible for paid time off or other fringe benefits.</p> <p>General Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Primary Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li>Provide Audio Visual equipment setups to include video and data projection, wired and </li></ol> <p>wireless microphones, portable and fixed sound reinforcement systems, audio mixers,</p> <p>and music playback from various devices .</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Provide technical support for classroom and non-classroom media events to include </li></ol> <p>troubleshooting both PC and MAC projection technologies, audio issues, and related AV</p> <p>issues.</p> <ol start="3"> <li> <p>Support larger events like campus wide symposiums and Board of Trustee meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Must be available nights and weekends.</p> </li></ol> <p>Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li>Provide work direction and training to student workers who may be assisting to support </li></ol> <p>the AV event.</p> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Maintain media equipment and make minor repairs</p> </li><li> <p>Loan appropriate media equipment to students, faculty and staff</p> </li><li> <p>Instruct users in basic media equipment operation</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned</p> </li></ol> <p>Education and Skills</p> <ol> <li>High school diploma and training and/or two year's experience that provides knowledge </li></ol> <p>of media equipment use, maintenance, installation and applications</p> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Good written and oral communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work alone or as a member of a team</p> </li><li> <p>Analytical and problem solving skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal skills</p> </li><li> <p>Well-organized, able to work under pressure and as a member of a team</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to interact well with a variety of people from all aspects of the college and</p> </li></ol> <p>community</p> <ol start="8"> <li>No travel required </li></ol> <p>Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands</p> <p>? Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., sitting or standing) for extended periods.</p> <p>? Frequent bending, kneeling, and crawling under desks or tight spaces to set up or</p> <p>troubleshoot equipment.</p> <p>? Ability to climb stairs and move between multiple floors/buildings as needed.</p> <p>? Frequent movement within the office and/or campus environment.</p> <p>? Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.</p> <p>? Repetitive motions, including typing, using a mouse, and handling documents.</p> <p>? Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and electronically.</p> <p>? Visual and auditory ability to complete job-related tasks.</p> <p>? Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions during work-related travel or events.</p> <p>? Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and copiers.</p> <p>? Ability to operate a slow speed vehicle (e.g. golf cart)</p> <p>Driving Required No Salary Range $26.27/hour Note</p> <p>Connecticut College is committed to fair and competitive compensation.
