Our graduates are well-prepared for a multidisciplinary world thanks to a flexible and diverse curriculum, informed through strong employer partnerships, which meets the needs for a well-educated and skilled workforce.</p> <p>Position Profile</p> <p>The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Schools's laboratories and support Electronics, Mechatronics, and Robotics facilities including an inventory of equipment and supplies. The incumbent will ensure a proper maintenance schedule for equipment and prepare laboratories for instructional use, and manage hazardous wastes generated by department research and teaching activities.</p> <p>Supervision Exercised</p> <p>May supervise support staff.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assists the Chairperson or Dean's designee with purchasing of laboratory supplies and equipment, oversight of supply budgets, approving and processing invoices for payment. </li><li>Prepares service contracts for laboratory and other department equipment, and performs minor repairs as needed. </li><li>Responsible for the preparation, setup, and clean-up of class laboratory sessions in coordination with faculty. </li><li>Maintains the Department's equipment, systems, instruments, and computers establishing a routine maintenance schedule and arranging for repair services with vendors. Submits work orders to Facilities Management as appropriate. </li><li>Maintains inventory of all chemicals in the academic department purchased, stored, and disposed of, in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and in coordination with the University Department of Environmental Health and Safety, where applicable. </li><li>Assists in the preparation and editing of laboratory manuals for laboratory manuals for lab courses. </li><li>Monitors laboratory activity during student "open lab" sessions. </li><li>Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level and responsibilities of the position. </li></ul> <p>Applicant Evaluative Criteria</p> <p>Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in academic discipline in a related field and three years of experience in laboratory technical, education, or research work in the assigned discipline or field.</p> <p>Experience and Training:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and make responsible fiscal and safety decisions. </li><li>Credentials and/or experience substantially comparable to the above may be considered. </li></ul> <p>Ideal Candidate</p> <p>Preference will be given to applicants with the following:</p> <p>Experience or technical education involving operation and maintenance of electronics, electrical, electromechanical, mechatronics, computer hardware, and robotics.</p> <p>Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and make responsible fiscal and safety decisions.</p> <p>To Apply</p> <p>To begin the application process, select the "Apply" button and electronically submit the following documents by May 19, 2026.
