<p>Job Title: Distribution Lineman A</p> <p>Location: Louisiana, USA</p> <p>Position Reports To: Crew Foreman</p> <p>Job Classification: Full Time / Non-Exempt</p> <p>Company: Electra Grid Solutions</p> <p>electragridsolutions.com</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Distribution Lineman A is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and associated equipment. This is the highest level of a multi-step progression from Apprentice to Journeyman Lineman. A Distribution Lineman A is expected to be proficient in all aspects of linework and serve as a leader and mentor to lower-level crew members.</p> <p>Job Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>String, splice, transfer, and sag wire in both energized and de-energized circuits; connect wires and transformers per specifications</p> </li><li> <p>Work regularly above ground using climbing gear, man lifts, boom trucks, or other specialized equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize underground fault-locating equipment and perform line routing or re-routing, including near energized systems</p> </li><li> <p>Select and use proper hot line tools and safety gear, including rubber gloves, line hoses, jumpers, and fiber guards</p> </li><li> <p>Install, maintain, and remove crossarms, pins, insulators, guys, switch racks, transformers, and U.R.D. equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Handle installation and removal of meters, cut-outs, disconnect switches, and circuit breakers with proper rigging techniques</p> </li><li> <p>Perform line switching, sectionalizing, phasing, load checks, and emergency repairs</p> </li><li> <p>Inspect lines, poles, and equipment for damage or wear; report deficiencies and hazards</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with pole handling, setting, guying, and tower erection</p> </li><li> <p>Support the training of Apprentices and other crew members</p> </li><li> <p>May troubleshoot and repair both company-owned and customer electrical systems</p> </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or GED required</p> </li><li> <p>Journeyman-level experience with overhead and underground electrical distribution systems</p> </li><li> <p>Valid CDL Class A license required to be maintained while in position</p> </li><li> <p>Current First Aid, CPR, and Pole Top Rescue certification required</p> </li><li> <p>Must pass drug, alcohol, background, MVR and clearinghouse checks upon hire and continuously while in position</p> </li><li> <p>Must pass a DOT physical examination</p> </li><li> <p>Willing and able to:</p> </li><li> <p>Travel long distances on short notice</p> </li><li> <p>Work extended hours, weekends, and overtime as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow</p> </li><li> <p>Perform duties independently with minimal supervision</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of utility safety protocols and industry standards</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills</p> </li><li> <p>Professional, ethical, and able to lead by example</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to climb poles and structures using proper climbing gear for extended periods</p> </li><li> <p>Frequent physical activities including standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements and operate hand tools and mechanical equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Work involves exposure to high-voltage systems, confined spaces, heights, and noisy environments</p> </li><li> <p>Must have close visual acuity to perform detailed inspections and tasks</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work at elevated heights and in proximity to energized equipment using required PPE</p> </li><li> <p>Must be physically fit to perform pole-top rescue operations and emergency response activities</p> </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work is conducted outdoors in all types of weather, including inclement conditions</p> </li><li> <p>Subject to hazardous conditions typical in electrical utility environments</p> </li><li> <p>Must be flexible to travel to various job sites and remain on location for extended periods when needed</p> </li><li> <p>Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times</p> </li></ul> <p>Key Attributes</p> <ul> <li> <p>Self Motivated - Takes initiative and responsibility for for safety quality.</p> </li><li> <p>Team-Oriented - Works cooperatively with others in a crew setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Customer-Focused - Acts with professionalism and respect.</p> </li><li> <p>Safety-Minded - Adheres to safety protocols and uses PPE properly.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Notes</p> <p>This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
