We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.</p> <p>The Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Psychiatry has opportunities for a collaborative, flexible, and team-oriented psychiatric nurse practitioner for an innovative team-based outpatient model connected with primary care medical practices. This clinician will provide outpatient care as part of an interdisciplinary team that also includes a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, and medical assistant. The focus of care is on rapid access to diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, psychiatric stabilization, and ultimately disposition, either back to the referring primary care provider or to longer term community providers.</p> <p>Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners in this model split clinical duties between consultations and medication management. Consultations are offered through comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, needs assessment, and treatment planning, and medication management is provided via time-limited care. The psychiatric nurse practitioner provides direct care to a select patient population in collaboration with the psychiatrist.</p> <p>The team will work in concert to provide comprehensive biopsychosocial care for patients.</p> <p>Psychiatrists provide diagnostic evaluation, medical work-up, and medication management, collaborating closely with the psychiatric nurse practitioner. Psychologists provide diagnostic evaluation, needs assessments, treatment planning, and psychotherapy.</p> <p>The social worker facilitates care disposition and is the team expert in case management and care transitions.</p> <p>All clinicians are supported by the medical assistant, who gathers patient reported outcomes and assists with patient communications. The team participates in daily huddles and weekly case conferences to discuss challenging cases.</p> <p>Candidates who work well in teams, collaborate well with both psychiatric and medical colleagues, and enjoy consultation and evaluation will be particularly well suited for work in this service. This is a full-time position with a hybrid model of in-person and telehealth-based care.</p> <p>Candidates must have a Master's degree in nursing.</p> <p>Applicants must have previous experience working in the mental health field as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Applicants must be licensed as a registered nurse and psychiatric nurse practitioner in Massachusetts, current federal and state-controlled substance certification/registration or eligibility and have a buprenorphine waiver (or willingness to acquire waiver in the first 90 days).</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. This position is a Psychiatric NP and focuses on providing care to patients with mental health disorders. May also have additional duties, such as precepting a small number of learners.</p> <p>Does this position require Patient Care?
