<p>Accounting and Finance Intern</p> <p>Program Overview</p> <p>Wilton Re's Norwalk based internship program is 10-12 weeks, fast-paced, and an exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study or career interest. Interns will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active Wilton Re projects. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, unique projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office 2 days work from work, based out of our Norwalk, CT office.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist with application of spreadsheet controls framework, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Annual spreadsheet controls risk assessment roll-forward process</p> </li><li> <p>Updating of workpapers with new spreadsheet control framework requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with the preparation of certain quarterly financial reporting workpapers</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with a project to clean-up and organize various contracts and other deal related documents within the finance contract database</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with projects related to suspense clean-up and other various reconciliation activities</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with the proforma process for the GAAP Separate Account files</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with Trad claim adjudication & payment approval process, account payable activities, FGL claims and desk audit testing, and bank reconciliation accumulation for Antelope transaction</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of a summer-long research project related to creating an education presentation about the various company-specific products and related accounting and reporting</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with various other projects to support the broader accounting and reporting team</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Rising Junior or Senior </li><li>Attending a 4-year university, pursuing a Bachelor's level degree in Accounting or Finance </li><li>Desirable: at least one accounting course already taken </li><li>Strong interest in Accounting and Finance </li><li>Ability to work full time; beginning of June to mid- August </li><li>Authorization to work in the U.S. </li><li>Adaptable and positive attitude </li><li>Strong communication skills </li><li>Continuous growth mindset </li><li>Collaborative and innovative </li></ul> <p>What You Can Expect at Wilton Re</p> <ul> <li>Meaningful project-based work </li><li>Community service opportunities </li><li>Networking with senior leaders </li><li>Working with an assigned mentor </li><li>Competitive pay </li><li>Professional development sessions </li></ul> <p>Location</p> <ul> <li>Norwalk, CT </li><li>Hybrid format with 3 days in-person and 2 days from home </li></ul> <p>Base salary/hourly rate range for this position in Connecticut is between $20.00 and $30.00 an hour.
