Don't miss this opportunity to be part of a fun and rewarding preschool program that focuses on child-led learning and growth for children ages 3 through 5!</p> <p>We're looking for staff to fill in on a substitute/as needed basis as Preschool Teacher's and/or Preschool Teacher Assistants.</p> <p>Classes begin in September and continue through May.</p> <p>Open until filled.</p> <p>PRESCHOOL TEACHERS</p> <p>In This Position You Will:</p> <ul> <li>Develop, plan, implement quality play-based program curriculum for preschool aged children </li><li>Focus on creative indoor and outdoor play-based learning activities </li><li>Provide a safe, wholesome, caring and comfortable environment for child participants </li><li>Communicate with parents/caregivers and supervisors </li><li>Adapt and independently problem-solve unanticipated situations </li><li>Track and report program related records </li><li>Write weekly emails, first day letters, theme calendars and participant evaluations </li><li>Provide work direction to other preschool team members </li><li>Request supplies and materials as needed </li><li>Administer basic first aid as needed - training provided! </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>PRESCHOOL TEACHER'S ASSISTANT:</p> <p>In This Position You Will:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in carrying out the day-to-day curriculum for classes up to 20 children </li><li>Assist in creating a wholesome, caring atmosphere in which the activity occurs </li><li>Assist with set-up, cleaning, take-down, and use of facility, equipment, and materials </li><li>Assist with the supervision of participants </li><li>Provide his/her own transportation to program site(s) </li><li>Communicate with parents and the public in a professional and courteous manner </li><li>Respond to work direction from teachers and program supervisor </li><li>Relay information to Teacher and Recreation Supervisor regarding parent communications, supply inventory, and behavior issues </li><li>Respond to staff schedule changes and work with a range of Teachers and teaching styles </li></ul> <p>PRESCHOOL TEACHER:</p> <ul> <li>A Bachelor's degree or nearly completed degree in Early Childhood Education or related field </li><li>Two (2) years of experience in teaching or assisting a teacher or equivalent work in a similar position </li></ul> <p>PRESCHOOL TEACHER'S ASSISTANT:</p> <ul> <li>Candidates must be 18 years or age or older </li><li>Previous paid work experience with preschool-age children and/or parent-child classes </li></ul> <p>PRESCHOOL TEACHER:</p> <ul> <li>Previous teaching experience in a preschool setting </li><li>Experience in recreation preschool programs </li><li>CPR and First Aid Certifications </li><li>Valid driver's license </li><li>Completed concussion training (Training is available on-line at https://www.nays.org/resources/more/free-concussion-training/) </li></ul> <p>PRESCHOOL TEACHER'S ASSISTANT:</p> <ul> <li>Coursework or in-service hours in Early Childhood Education or closely related field </li><li>Current Certification in CPR and First Aid </li><li>Valid driver's license </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, write, hear, balance, run, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, dance, sing and other movements in a variety of environments. Vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
