As an Electrical Substation Cost Estimator, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming engineering plans into real-world projects. You'll work alongside passionate experts, using cutting-edge tools and your own industry insight to bring precision and clarity to every stage of construction planning. This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds-collaborate in person at our Raleigh office at least two days per week and enjoy the flexibility of remote work the rest of the time. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your expertise directly impacts project success, this is your chance to make a powerful difference.</p> <p>How you'll make an impact</p> <ul> <li> <p>Review and interpret engineering plans with accuracy.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform and document detailed quantity takeoffs for civil works, building construction, high and low voltage electrical and mechanical installation.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop unit costs using industry standards for labor, equipment, and materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Estimate construction costs from engineering drawings and specs.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide budget estimates for electrical substations.</p> </li><li> <p>Use estimates to support construction scheduling.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate subcontractor pricing and change requests.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain and contribute to the Hitachi Energy construction cost database.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.</p> </li></ul> <p>Your background</p> <ul> <li> <p>5+ years of experience in construction cost estimating, preferably in electrical substations.</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree in engineering, quantity surveying, construction management, or related field preferred.
