Leads and grows managers and developers, build agile teams, provide people development and organizational development opportunities, partners with business stakeholders to understand.</p> <p>Product roadmap and sets up teams for success to deliver on their commitments. Participate in the development of policies, procedures, standards and controls. workload planning.</p> <p>Principle Duties</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead with Vision: Deliver a modern cloud data platform vision, leveraging best-of-breed purchased solutions and building differentiated capabilities in-house</p> </li><li> <p>Build Foundational Capabilities: Spearhead the development and support of core data platform services, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Data Integration Framework: Establish data integration framework using custom and COTS data integration technologies that support data product owners to create data pipelines. Provide flexibility to choose between data lake, Iceberg or Snowflake database through established patterns and guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Data Access: Maintain the automation and integration that will be used to facilitate the provisioning and de-provisioning of access to the data platform services.</p> </li><li> <p>Data Governance Tools: Implementing and managing tools to enforce data quality, compliance, and security policies in support of the Data Governance initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>DataOps Services: Building and managing comprehensive DataOps services including:</p> </li><li> <p>Observability: Implementing robust monitoring and alerting to ensure platform health and performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Integration Services: Facilitating seamless data integration across various enterprise systems and applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Orchestration Services: Facilitating efficient orchestration of the data pipelines to ingest, transform and provision data to consumers.</p> </li><li> <p>Champion Modern Practices: Promote and embody principles of Design Thinking, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Servant Leadership within your team and across the organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Foster a High-Performance Culture: Cultivate a rewarding and innovative engineering culture that embraces:</p> </li><li> <p>Customer-Obsession: Driving an engineering mindset focused on delivering customer-centric data solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Proactive Problem Solving: Empowering the team to resolve complex issues and remediate operational challenges with ingenuity.</p> </li><li> <p>Automation First: Championing automation to improve efficiency, reliability, and speed of delivery.</p> </li><li> <p>Drive Digital Transformation: Partner with global technology and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver platform capabilities that accelerate digital transformation initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead Large-Scale Projects: Successfully deliver large-scale, transformational data platform projects, demonstrating expertise in project management and execution.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent experience</p> </li><li> <p>Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) and/or LOMA certification preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>10+ Years experience in project management, programming, or systems analysis.</p> </li><li> <p>2+ Years management experience and/or technical leadership in IT</p> </li><li> <p>5+ Years people management and team leadership experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Extensive Experience: Experience in data platform engineering and leadership roles, with a proven track record of delivering cloud-based data platform capabilities and large scale Enterprise Transformations.</p> </li><li> <p>Cloud Expertise: Deep understanding and experience with cloud service providers (AWS preferred, Azure/GCP considered).</p> </li><li> <p>Modern Data Stack Proficiency: Expertise with modern Data Integration toolsets (Qlik/Fivetran/Matillion/dbt/Alteryx/Sigma), Observability solutions (custom/COTS), Orchestration (dagster/airflow/astronomer) and data platform (Snowflake/Databricks).</p> </li><li> <p>Data Governance Acumen: Solid understanding and practical experience with Data Governance principles and toolsets.</p> </li><li> <p>Leadership & Team Building: Exceptional leadership skills with a passion for building and developing high-performing engineering teams. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan.
