<p>The volleyball instructors will help to lead our youth volleyball camps. Volleyball instructors should have a basic working knowledge of the fundamental skills of volleyball and are extremely confident and skilled at translating and delivering those skills to a young audience (ages 8-13). Successful instructors will have the ability to engage and gain trust with young children, and progressively help participants develop confidence and enthusiasm for the sport of volleyball.</p> <ul> <li>Instructs beginner youth volleyball players. </li><li>Demonstrates volleyball skills and techniques. </li><li>Supervises participants and maintains a safe learning environment </li><li>Shall wear Parks and Recreation staff uniform per the City of Appleton dress code </li><li>Signs own name on the results/pay sheet for hours worked </li><li>Works closely with the Parks & Recreation Department staff and volunteers to ensure all department rules and policies are observed </li><li>CPR/First Aid Certification </li><li>Strong volleyball background, teaching experience preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of the principles and skills of the game of volleyball </li><li>Ability to effectively carry out oral and written instructions. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow staff members and the public in a courteous and tactful manner </li><li>Valid driver's license </li><li>Ability to effectively supervise and maintain control of participants </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public in a courteous and tactful manner </li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills </li><li>Adhere to City of Appleton and Departmental policies and procedures </li></ul> <p>Education Level Required: Completed 2 years of High School or 2 years of experience</p> <p>Updated 2025 Pay Grade: 3</p> <p> </p> <p>Typical work schedule for a Volleyball Instructor is Mondays 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. </p> <p>March 11-April 15 (No camp March 25 or April 1) </p> <p> </p> <p> Location of work:  Einstein Middle School</p> <p> </p> <p>The volleyball instructor will lead instructional classes for youth in grades 3rd through 6th grade.  Candidates should have a strong knowledge of the fundamentals of volleyball, be able to develop daily lesson plans, and be able to communicate confidently and in an encouraging manner.</p>
