This position requires providing high quality products and services to the West Hartford School community.</p> <p>Position Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent experience. </li><li>Must be able to read, write, and interpret menus and other written tools. </li><li>Ability to work as part of a team and communicate well with supervisor and co-workers, and with customers. </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance. </li><li>Must be capable of learning food sanitation and safety procedures. </li><li>Must be able to follow directions in an efficient manner. </li><li>Must be able to work in an environment that can reach 90 degrees Fahrenheit. </li><li>Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time. </li><li>Must be able to stoop, and bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of the job. </li><li>Must be able to use hand strength to grasp tools, and reach with arms and hands. </li></ul> <p>Position Description:</p> <ul> <li>Prepares food as directed by supervisor or cook. </li><li>Maintain production and temperature records for all foods, controlling quality and quantity of food. </li><li>Serve meals to customers or perform cashiering functions during meal service. </li><li>Receive products being delivered and assure proper storage. </li><li>Perform basic cashier duties, including meal payment processing, maintaining students' meal accounts, computer functions, and maintaining petty cash. </li><li>Clean and sanitize equipment following all required state and federal guidelines. </li><li>Plan ahead for the week's menu, communicate needs with the supervisor and utilize food products to maintain freshness. </li><li>Operate all cooking and cleaning equipment as instructed. </li><li>Maintain dress code as instructed. </li><li>All other duties as assigned by the supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Starting Salary: $16.94 per hour</p> <p>Excellent working conditions and full benefits such as: health/dental, paid holidays and sick days may apply, depending on position.</p> <p>Please complete the application in full and provide 3 letters of recommendation dated within the last 365 days to be considered for a position.</p> <p>Click here for a message from WHPS to our prospective employees!</p> <p>Equity and Anti-Racism Vision</p> <p>We, the members of West Hartford Public Schools, dedicate ourselves</p> <p>to the pursuit of equity.
