Please view our benefits guide here.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The City of Greeley is seeking a Project Manager to join the newly formed Office of Project Management division of the High Performance Government department. The Project Manager will report to the Director of Innovation and High Performance and will coordinate the planning and execution of customer experience projects while maintaining strict deadlines, resources, and budgets. This includes acquiring and collaborating with resources from various internal departments across the City and/or coordinating external contractor or consultant resources as needed in order to meet goals and objectives according to each project plan. The Project Manager will define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle.</p> <p>Experience, Knowledge, Skills:</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or specialized technical training or certification of equivalent scope or program length </li><li>Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in a project management or equivalent role </li><li>Project Management experience on large integration projects </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>PMI or equivalent Project Management Certification </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community </li><li>Ability to communicate under pressure to a variety of audiences both formally and informally </li><li>Ability to provide strategic guidance to project team and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle </li><li>Ability to foster a cooperative work environment </li><li>Able to exercise independent judgment and act on it </li><li>High self-motivated and directed </li><li>Strong customer service orientation </li><li>Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment </li><li>Extensive planning and organization skills </li><li>Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of the current and developing strategic requirements of the City </li><li>Strong familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project </li><li>Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently </li><li>Ability to defuse tension among project team or stakeholders; should it arise </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of infrastructure system and applications </li><li>Knowledge of the business and organizational structure of Colorado municipalities </li><li>Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal </li><li>Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and learn and experiment with new software and systems </li><li>Interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork between others </li><li>Oral, written, and listening communication skills, including the ability to accurately interpret what others are saying and convey messages, information, concepts, and details accurately and clearly </li><li>Organizational skills, including the ability to set and meet goals and deadlines, manage appointments, create schedules, coordinate and facilitate meetings, and make decisions </li><li>Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple concurrent and competing tasks and responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining personal effectiveness </li><li>Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and stay on task when completing special projects and daily assignments </li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and reliable professional judgment, as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve desired results </li><li>Ability to maintain a strong work ethic, positive problem-solving attitude, and enthusiasm for the work performed </li><li>Ability to self-start and take initiative in completing daily tasks and special projects </li><li>Ability to focus on activities that have the greatest impact on meeting work commitments </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with a variety of internal and external constituencies </li><li>Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ages </li><li>Ability to navigate a complex political environment </li><li>Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, processes, principles, and best practices </li><li>Knowledge of change management methodologies, tools, processes, principles, and best practices </li><li>Project management skills, including the ability to organize data and materials, solve problems, negotiate with others to reach a common objective, communicate information and changes, adapt to shifting priorities, manage conflict, and meet deadlines </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Adheres to and reinforces all policies, processes, and procedures </li><li>Directs and manages project development from beginning to end; defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support City goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders </li><li>Coordinates with key project stakeholders, project sponsor, and change sponsor to develop project communication plans. </li><li>Communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion by developing full-scale project plans and associated communication documents </li><li>Identifies, tracks, manages, and mitigates project risks in collaboration with the project team </li><li>Sets and continually manages project expectations with team members and other stakeholders </li><li>Identifies and resolves conflicts within the project team while also coaching, mentoring, and motivating project team members to take positive action and accountability for their work </li><li>Estimates resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
