Springer serves the community through four pillars: Springer Lower School and Middle School (grades 1-8), Springer High School (grades 9-12), Springer Diagnostic Center, and Springer Learning Center. Springer faculty and staff embrace the organization's mission and incorporate the core values of student growth/development, staff expertise/development, partnership, communication, and stability in their daily work.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Springer High School seeks a Director of Academics and Learning who will lead academic programming, student learning, and faculty instruction for a dynamic, growing high school. This experienced, creative professional will develop and champion best-in-class programming and practices designed specifically for students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia and ADHD, and who have challenges with executive functioning. Overseeing extracurricular programming and college/career planning will be taken into consideration based on candidate experience.</p> <p>Job Goals</p> <ul> <li>Design, coordinate, and support the delivery of best practices in academic programming for students with learning disabilities. </li><li>Oversee the further development of Springer High School's three signature, specialized courses specifically designed for students with learning disabilities. </li><li>Support teachers in the ongoing development of best practices in student learning. </li><li>Embrace a team approach to supporting student growth. </li><li>Develop meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues. </li><li>Contribute to the health and wellbeing of the broader Springer community. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience working directly with students diagnosed with learning disabilities. </li><li>Experience developing specialized programs and practices for students diagnosed with learning disabilities. </li><li>Experience serving as a coach and mentor to teachers. </li><li>Knowledge of best practices for students with learning disabilities. </li><li>Experience contributing to the development of a positive school culture. </li><li>The proven ability to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with students and families. </li><li>A positive outlook on problem-solving. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience as an independent school teacher or administrator. </li><li>Experience as a coach/mentor of teachers. </li><li>A background in curriculum design, designing elective offerings and/or technology implementation. </li><li>Experience overseeing extracurricular programming and college/career planning in an independent school for students diagnosed with learning disabilities. </li></ul> <p>Key Characteristics: Professional, knowledgeable, passionate, dependable, adaptable and detail-oriented.</p> <p>Terms of Employment: Full-time school year, part-time summer months</p> <p>How to Apply: Qualified applicants should email a resume, cover letter and employment application (found on the Springer employment page) to Brett T.
